vs. NIU

Post by HoopsFan »

Late to the party. NIU jumped out to a 21-9 lead 8 minutes into this game.

Huger's folly.

This keeping your best player on the bench the first 7:00 of every game and finding yourself down by 2 TDs is getting old.

Also the NIU PG is absolutely destroying Matheny, Curtis, and Mills. Kid has like 2 pts but is the best player on the court completely controlled that first half.

Jerry Anderson sounds like he swallowed a game show host.

Mills has 0 everything in 28 minutes, Ayers sits the final 8 minutes. Fire him now!

Why is agee & Ayers on the bench the last 10 minutes. Unbelievable. I’d coach for free and get better results

I love BGSU and would never, ever openly root for them to lose -- but I am okay with this result.

If BG starts showing any signs of life as a team, I fear the AD will not take the step that needs taken for this program.

Keep losing and it makes the AD's job easier (at least in perception).

Mills scored with 44.2 left in game. His offensive explosion took most of the game to arrive.

I'm right there with you. We need the justification for changing coaches to be 100٪ justifiable to anyone. Middling is as good as death.

And here we go. Our usual February collapse kicking in yet again.

Speaking of Ayers sitting, ... wtf is Agee playing 35 minutes per game?

Don’t think Agee is conditioned well enough to play 35 minutes. However, the more O’Neal plays the more the losses pile up. Tonight was just coaching malpractice. Huger is done, the program is done until further notice. The only thing holding things up is the Covid extension.

3 losses in a row. Very much in danger of missing the MAC tournament for the 2nd year in a row. This is pitiful, and exactly why I made the decision to not spend a cent on this program until there is a change in leadership.

Wild: We haven’t won a single MAC tournament game since we made the championship game 4 years ago and Huger signed an extension.

The first of two contract extensions. But, we did provide an opportunity for Jim Elsasser’s kid to play Division 1 basketball.

While the coaching was atrocious, shooting .24% for the first 10 minutes of the game kind of puts a damper on your chances of winning.

For sure but in that first 10 mins we have sam towns taking jumpers and Ayers trying to do too much. We were down by 10 before we even had what I'd call a good look..

This team is awful in the half court and doesn't play good enough defense to rely on transition offense as heavily as they do..yet again Huger blames the players saying they simply don't want to compete hard enough to win games. Meanwhile the one guy who never shows a lack of effort doesn't get in until we're already down double digits.

I get frustrated with the way Ayers plays as much as anybody, and his defense is non-existent, but to keep him on the bench for the final 8 mins or whatever almost felt like we weren't trying to win.
