Who were the best players you remember playing at BG and Favorite memories......Have to have seen them with your own eyes.

Favorite memories
-Dakich coming out with his coat turned around...so weird but it worked.
-Sitting in the student section and then working in the press box
-I swear one time Keith McLeod bounced the ball to himself and then dunked it. I don't know if that was really a memory or something I made up

David Greer, Colin Irish, and COAT! COAT!! COAT!!!

Yeah, I'm old.

The entirety of Antonio Daniels senior year. Particularly the game where they came back from a 25 point. (I think) second half deficit to beat Miami.

The Clinton Venable half-court alley-oop pass to Joe Moore against Michigan State at Anderson Arena.

Greer did this thing when he pulled up in the lane - we called it "cute feet". Damn near always hit when he did that.

For some reason David Jenkins was "TJ". T was for "Twinkie" NO IDEA why.

Fun fact - Greer's senior year I was a junior falcon. I was 12. I was taller than him. HE was listed 5'9". I was 5'7".

Watching Joe More slash through a defense, catch a pass and score in the paint - at 6'3" - was a trip. His dunking was nuts. He had a great SF games in a 6'3" body. Better handles or shooting he'd have been an AMAZING guard.

But overall, it has to be Antonio Daniels. Never had a player just pull up and shoot a 3 in your face on one possession and then absolutely posterize you the next. He was unreal.

Mawel Soler shattered a backboard in warmups and that might forever be the best memory in falcon hoops history.

McLeod had so many big moments, the buzzer beater against UM is probably the first one I think of.

Daniels and McLeod in their POY seasons were the best seasons I've ever seen.

I did not like Martin Samarcos game but I think he hit a crazy fallaway buzzer beating 3 once as well (maybe against CMU?)

There were a handful of times that Kevin Netter would look like a Gazelle running down the court for a dunk. Not nearly enough given his talent level but was awesome when it showed.

Plowden was a human highlight reel as a SO, was on SC Top10 seemingly every week.

My favorite players is a tough list, I've genuinely enjoyed so many of the guys I've watched come through here. My starting 5 favorites:

Pg - Antonio Daniels
SG - Keith McLeod
SF - Anthony Stacey
PF - Daequon Plowden
C - Richaun Holmes

Stacey and McLeod for me. Plus Stacey was a friend of my brothers in high school which made it cool getting to see him play and dominate often.

Got to agree on Walt P., also Rich Walker and Jim Penix. The last year we went to the NCAAs I believe we beat both Wisconsin and Michigan in Anderson Arena. After the Michigan game the fans including me seated on the student bleachers rushed the floor.

Howard “Butch” Komives. I we would have had the 3pt line he would have averaged over 40(FORTY) his senior year.
When we got beat by Illinois in the NCAA regional in 1963, he scored 25 against Tal Brody (defensive player of year in Big 10), on one leg as he had a pulled hamstring!

My dad who is REALLY old says Komives and Thurmond. He tells some great stories about those two.

John Flowers.... Would have been an all time great were it not for the injuries. His courage and toughness in coming back to play was exemplary.

I am pretty sure I have mentioned before that my dad was a walk-on on that team.

You did not make that up. McLeod bounced the ball to himself and dunked it to ice a victory against the Rockets AT SAVAGE HALL. One of my favorite memories as well
