Conference Slate

Post by fanatic13 »

It's that time of year so let's take a look at the Mac, our schedule, and my predictions for the second half of the season

Here are the net rankings and kenpom rankings for Mac teams. Following the recent trend this is a down year with no great teams and a few really bad teams. Net takes time to get the calculation working great so expect some more change there
Team -net (kenpom)

Akron - 121 (111)
Kent - 131 (118)
Toledo - 159 (155)
Bg - 168 (195)
Ohio - 186 (156)
Niu - 197 (229)
Miami - 231 (248)
Ball - 246 (253)
Wmu - 292 (307)
Emu - 300 (301)
Cmu - 325 (322)
Buff - 353 (332) ouch

Mac schedule is very fortunate this year although I'm sure the diehards are sad to play 3 mac east teams only once. Akron, Kent, niu, and Buffalo are the 4 teams we play once.

EMU - W
@ AKRON - L
OHIO - L
@ NIU - L
@ MIAMI - W
WMU - W
KENT - L
@ TOL - L
@ BALL - W
CMU - W
BUFF - W
@ EMU - L
@ CMU - W
TOL - W
MIAMI - L
@ OHIO - L
@ WMU - W
BALL - W

That puts at 10-8 and with the schedule we could get 11 or 12 wins. However I think we'll have some shooting struggles and growing pains causing us to a drop a few games we should win. Finishing 7-3 would give us some momentum for March without a Goliath to take down. I say we get a win in the opening round before a tough loss in the semis

Expectations for me are 12-6 minimum. The conference is weak and if Simon and staff are as good as I think they are we should be successful and win close games that we would have lost in past seasons. I will be disappointed with 10-8 or worse
