On Tuesday night at 7:00pm, our Falcons (16-9, 7-5 MAC) will take on the Central Michigan Chippewas (15-10, 9-3 MAC) in a really important game. They beat us in OT at the Stroh a few weeks ago, so it won’t be easy, but we need to find a way to get back to winning, as Ohio (7-5), Miami (6-6), and Kent State (6-6) are right behind us in the MAC standings, with a few weeks to go.
Game will be broadcast on ESPN+. Find a way, Falcons.

Now would be a good time to get hot. 4 of our next 5 are against teams within 2 games of us in the standings, and I believe getting a top 6 seed is crucial to playing on Friday in Cleveland.
Currently at the 4, but just a 1-game lead over the 7 seed.

I've been keeping an eye on the standings, and you're absolutely right about how tight things are behind us. We still have to play Ohio, Miami, and WMU - all of whom are within 2 games of us in the standings. They're teams we already have wins over, but the tiebreakers gets wonky if we allow them to tie the season series. Get rolling tonight, and let's find a way to close out some sweeps in MAC play.

I'm hoping that a February collapse is not a holdover from the Huger years

CMU does not care if anyone on BG gets an open 3. They are collapsing on the ball the second it gets inside the 3 point line.

Spiraling at the moment. Really for about a month now.

Imagine being so offensively inept that you could hold a team to 36% shooting for a half and yet be down 13 points.
That would be wild, wouldn't it?

And we're lucky to have 17. That was painful to watch
Not that it matters but either Humphrey is deep in the dog house or injured. Greer and McComb are playing hard with their opportunity

5-30 from the field. And it's not a bad shooting night, it's a bad offensive night. Hardly any of our shots have been good looks.

That was an absolutely horrendous half of basketball. We have at least 3-4 guys in our rotation that are completely unplayable right now. Did Humphrey quit? After getting benched last game he was firing off tweets like crazy and hasn't played in this one. I don't care if I ever see Thomas attempt another shot in his BG tenure. Spurgin has completely forgotten how to play the game. Greer is a freshman not yet ready to contribute and none of our role guys are playing their role at all. Hill and Agee are very good but both primarily at the rim players and there are 4 defenders inside the restricted circle on every possession.
I've watched a lot of shitty BG basketball teams over the years but this is definitely one of the worst shooting groups we've put on the floor. Shades of orr squads in that regard.
We need at least ,3-4 guys to quit and get some decent players in here.

We don't even necessarily need better players. They could be worse defenders or rebounders - just so long as they can SHOOT THE BALL.
Some of these guys were supposed to be shooters. And we had spacing and good looks at first until teams figured out to leave them alone.
We still get wide open 3's. We just simply cannot hit them.

Yep. It just frustrates the s**t out of me because Hill wants to make the right basketball play and his teammates do jack when he does. So he HAS to force the issue. Luckily he started hot this half and we're still in this game, but yet again Thomas throwing wide open bricks at the glass.
Agee has no shot because he's basically getting triple teamed on the glass the perimeter defenders sag so far on him.
I don't know how you can win with this level of shooting. This BG team already shoots less 3s than any of Simon's last 3 years at SUU, and we're shooting WAY worse as a percentage than his teams ever did. A complete inability to shoot has basically destroyed any offensive sets he wants to run.

Somehow we're in this game. Is it possible to win a game without making a three pointer?

The shooting should improve over the course of Simon’s tenure. As he gets guys in the system for longer and coaches them up, they should improve. This should get better over time.
