Better come out and take care of business. I can't do M/W games so I'll miss this one

New strategy, play NAIA teams. I know it’s an inferior opponent but this has to feel good to our guys.

It looks like we have a lot more talent on this roster. Time will tell if they can gel and commit to playing defense.

At least the team is doing exactly what they should be doing. Few too many offensive rebounds allowed but overall way too much of a talent gap

BG up 59-23 at halftime. Doing exactly what they should.

Great job tonight. They’re going to need more time to gel but games like tonight are good for their confidence. Defense/rebounding will be tested in a major way on saturday at the Bres.

You saw the talent on this team last night regardless of the opponent. A good chance to get guys a bunch of playing time. Braelon Green and Felt really stood out athletically from the bench guys. Exacte just doesn’t look healthy. If Humphrey, who while he has had his shooting struggles is 10th or 11th guy used, you have really good depth. The more this team pushes the pace and uses its surplus of guards the better off they will be. Especially if the defense struggles. Just play track meets.

I think they have to play track meets, but interestingly I cannot fathom Johnson being good in that sort of a game. We simply don't do enough in a half court offense to rely on it, we need to get out and run to create quick offense. The hope would be, like you said, rolling 10 guys keeps us fresher than our opposition.

Glad we dominated the NAIA, team, as we should, but I didn't see any of it and I find it tough to take much away from these games. I understand why they play them, although I'm always skeptical what we actually gain.

I totally agree Johnson is such a weird fit on a team where pretty much all of the other pieces aren’t like him. Khayat can rebound and have the ball to rim on the other end faster than about any big guy I’ve seen. He has to play. Then you see Johnson 12-21 from 3 while a small sample size and I understand why he is on the court so much. Injuries will happen and maybe that settles some of it down. If Thomas shooting struggles come back I think better options are already waiting.

I think Johnson plays as much as he does purely as a way to stretch the defense and force them to guard a big guy on the perimeter. Obviously he is big and slow, but that shooting touch forces defenses to defend him out there. I think he will play less as the year goes on if he cannot defend, but his shooting stroke is absurd and can be a weapon in spots. I'm excited to see what this rotation looks like once we hit MAC play.

I don't disagree at all. While I lament the lack of half court offense, Johnson is the one player who thrives there. He pulls the opposing bigs way out on the perimeter. He's shown the ability to pop threes even when he's not open. He's also a really good passer, from what little I've seen, but we simply don't cut to the basket often enough to take advantage of that fact.

But in the 2 D1 games we've played, as good as he's been at times, I'm pretty certain he's been directly responsible for giving up more points than he's contributed to. He simply MUST find a way to move his feet enough to be a competent defender. He's also got to start rebounding. We cannot play a PF for 25 minutes a night that cannot defend or get rebounds, and I don't care how good a shooter he is. If that means his mins have to come down, so be it. The MAC is littered with 6-5 to 6-9 athletes. They're going to destroy him if he can't do better on that end of the court. We've kind of seen it in this conference with Mirambeaux from Miami. He'd put up points, he was a good shooter too (perhaps not as good as Johnson), but you could run him off the court. He'd get gassed and couldn't guard anybody, and he didn't rebound either.

I really like Khayat's game in this run type system. That's an eye-popping athlete by MAC standards.

Khayat has that big man international game. Athletic and ability to go coast to coast himself. Playing for Lebanon is a huge boost even if it's a smaller basketball country. Every time he's there he's playing against grown men. Green was the most impressive watching the game. It was taylor but he showed the best ability to get to the rim and his talent was obvious. I'm not sure it will translate but it's a nice bench piece to watch

I agree with the johnson takes here and his shot looks so smooth

Saw him in a walking boot a couple weeks back. He appears to be out of it now but not surprised they're bringing him along slowly.

He was playing soccer with my kid at the men's playoff game on Sunday. Seemed to be moving fine.

I don't think he's going to see many minutes on this squad anyhow. He's always been a borderline MAC prospect, he's here because of his last name, not his game.
