BG/OU Prediction

I'm not liking this game at all for us. Don't get me wrong, I hope I am wrong, I really do. But Ohio has been playing very, very well at home and is undefeated at The Convo at 7-0 overall, 3-0 in the MAC. Ohio just demolished Kent State at home and jumped all over Toledo early to build a huge lead. I fear another slow start and too many turnovers catches up with us in this one. Ohio is a very athletic team this year and we've had our troubles against that. Again, I hope I am wrong and would absolutely love to be, but I think the Bobcats beat us in this one.

I say Dakich spends all of the time leading up to this game reading the team the riot act about not coming out with any presence in the first half and turns that part of their game around. I don't forsee us falling down by a lot early, and actually expect us to make a run and gain a bit of a lead in the first few minutes. If it were any other coach than Dakich running our team I wouldn't feel this way, but I know those kids don't want to get too far over on his bad side...
I have a LOT of faith in this team:

Wow, what a dichotomy. They are 7-0 at home and 2-7 on the road. You're right, this is a very scary game, but I like our chances on the 7th when Ohio comes to BG.

As a Bobcat fan, I'm a little biased, but I agree with this post in its entirety. I've only seen BG play once this year (the UT game last Saturday), but it seems like OU will match-up well. We're primarily a perimeter oriented team, with tremendous speed & athleticism in the backcourt. I think this will cause you guys some turnover problems on Saturday, as it has everyone else we've played this year.
The 'Cats played a really sloppy 2nd half last night against Toledo, or else we would have beaten them by 25-30. I think it may have been a blessing in disguise, though, because it will give Coach O'Shea a lot to work on in practice today and tomorrow. We'll also be looking for payback after a heartbreaking loss in the 1st round of the tourney last season.
OU is only 9-7 (4-4) this year, but the record is a little misleading. We've lost 3 on the road by a total of 6 points (NIU, BSU, & Miami), and could have easily won each. Alas, that's the price you pay for starting 3 newcomers and 2 second year players. Excuses, excuses, I know...
Anyway, OU & BG are set to play twice in 10 days. Should be an interesting barometer for both squads. I anticipate a split. Best of luck, and let me know if I can answer any questions about OU's squad this year.

Ohio is my "sleeper team" of the MAC this year. No one is really talking about them but I like what they are doing down there despite the current overall record. They play very well at home and have battled like heck from big deficits in very close road losses to teams like Ball State and Miami. Mychal Green (former Louisville signee), Sonny Troutman (former Indiana (state) Player of the Year) and Jeremy Fears (Purdue recruit) are a very athletic trio, and Leon Williams is a banger inside. Certainly, I want BG to win, but these two games against Ohio will be tough. But it's kind of nice having a home-and-home series with a MAC East team again. I for one hope BG is back in the East next year to stay.

I hope I'm wrong, but the reason I thought we really needed last night's win was that we have a hard task on Saturday.
By the way, the teams we match up poorly against are dribble penetration teams. IMO.

My sleeper team is Akron...they are legit.
Then again, BG could be thee sleeper as well, considering where we were picked to finish in the West.
As for this game? Ohio hasn't lost at home all year. Why not now?

Game highlight: OU Dance Team forgets to shave pits and legs. Grant still takes numerous pictures.

I think we storm out of the gate thanks to a Dakich pep talk, but slip go cold in the second half.

I predict something similar to Oakland or Ball State.
