@ WMU (1/7)

Post by mbenecke »

On Tuesday, January 7, our Falcons (5-8, 0-1 MAC) head to Kalamazoo to take on the Western Michigan Broncos (3-10, 0-1 MAC). The game will begin at 7:00pm and will be available to stream on ESPN+.

Go Falcons! Beat WMU!

Things are very ugly right now but hard to tell how much of that is attributable to injuries.

We’re getting dunked on by a 3-10 team right now. This is awful.

We're in a dogfight with an absolutely terrible MAC team. Yes, injuries, are killing us, but it doesn't help us feel any better.

At this point we need to steal enough of the wins against these putrid teams to hopefully find a way to make it to Cleveland and hope we can get healthy enough to look like a different team.

I don't like anything about this BG team right now. Sure, occasionally they show flashes of competence, but for the most part it's just not good basketball.

Falcons win. Wasn’t pretty, but it ended up gritty.

That was a quick regression but at least we got a road win. Luckily for us the beginning of mac play isn't too bad of a draw. I forget we only play Akron and Ohio once this year

Ugly gritty win. When do we get Towns and Yoyo back?

From players, Yoyo is supposed to be back in late January and Towns is TBD. Towns tore up a lot of his knee so could come back or could not. If he does, I think it'll be in February.

I love Dajion and would like to see him back, but we really need YoYo & Towns back.

Great job by Campbell/Butler/Thomas down the stretch tonight.

Wasn't a pretty game, but nice to grab a road win.

It’s a road win. Thomas has been fantastic in the first two MAC games. Exacte and Felt played key roles to as as they out rebounded a good rebounding team. Humphrey is close to coming back and will add much needed depth especially defensively. While he isn’t nearly as needed as Towns or Khayat it will help. Steal another road win on Saturday with Buffalo and Eastern Michigan next week and you would feel pretty good about where they are.

Yep realistically the game was frustrating but major props to win it. I don't think they come back if not for Thomas's 2 threes to end the first either. Turning a 10 point deficit into 4 right before half was huge.

Forgot to mention Exacte too. He's been forced into more minutes and in the 2 MAC games has been really big for us.

The schedule is almost as good as you could hope for knowing you will always play Toledo twice. Draw Akron, Ohio, a much improved Miami and Central once. Get all the lowest rated teams twice.
