Dakich said Monday that he would be back. I haven't heard anything to the contrary as of yet.

Germain was in the starting lineup this afternoon and scored the Falcons' first points.

Then he didnt play the rest of the game because his knee was in too much pain. If we want to win the MAC championship, we NEED him healthy. I wish that dope wouldn't have jumped on his back.

Does anyone have any proof someone "jumped on his back?" I heard he hurt it after landing from a chest-bump. Just a thought...

I was thinking the same thing, Metz... though I was also thinking that a week after the incident, even if it is something that will continue to affect our team, its time to move on. If someone jumped on his back, it was a dumb move. Maybe a really dumb move. If they chest bumped him, its much different, maybe still not the smartest move. But unless they perfect technology to put all key athletes in bubbles 24/7, s**t happens. Yeah it sucks, especially since it looks like it could have likely been prevented, but its over with. As boneheaded as it might have been, it was a fluke. We can either take what is given to us and cheer for BG win or lose (hopefully more wins than losses, naturally), or we can run this kid over the coals everytime the ball doesn't bounce our way. It sucks that Germain has to struggle through this after all the hard work and dedication he has given to this program to get back from multiple injuries, but we have to move on. Period.

Sworden should be kicked out of the anderson animals. How is chest bumping a player any different from jumping on their back. Stay away from the players. Besides, he didnt chest bump him, he flat out ran into him. Watch the tape. Fitch is a crucial part of this team and we suffer when he is not in there. The last 2 games are proof of that.

I'll admit that it takes some nerve to run on the floor and chest thump, jump on, or do any other physical thing to a basketball player, especially when you don't know the guy and he's bigger than you. I've never done it, and I never will. However, it was basically an innocent (albeit thickheaded and senseless) act and not that far outside of what you'd expect under the circumstances. In reality, this is more of a freak incident of excruciatingly bad luck than a systematic problem that can be regulated by some new policy. 99.999% of the time, nothing bad happens. Let's keep things in perspective. We shouldn't jump on a bandwagon to demonize this kid for his senseless but nonmalicious act. He's certainly learned his lesson, and others have from this as well.

true, that anything bad rarely happens. which is why change is not warranted and subsequently shouldn't be implemented.
the act was senseless, but certainly not non malicious. perhaps his intent wasn't malicious, but the end result was.

Well, somebody warn Sworden....

Next game at AA vs Akron. Why not remind all Anderson Animals that are the floor to not jump on any players 3 knee surgeries or not. I'm sure Sworden was siked about the intense last second win over UT like all of us , but you gotta before you act.

GO BG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LAMBAST THE ZIPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :supz:
