vs. Siena Heights (12/22)

Post by mbenecke »

Following a great road win over Ohio, our Falcons (9-3, 1-0 MAC) return to the Stroh Center for a non-conference game against Siena Heights (4-8). The game will begin at 2:00pm and stream on ESPN+.

I don’t expect it to be competitive, but I’m excited to be in the build for it - the early start allows me to bring my 2 year old son to his first BG basketball game, and he’s super excited.

Go Falcons!

I think the kid can play.

I know PG mins are limited with Campbell taking teh bulk. Thomas has been the secondary ball handler of late which is probably fine. Still, I wish we'd get him some minutes when we are into our depth.

I didn't see any of today's game though, so glad to hear he got some run.

Super fun afternoon at the Stroh. Stress free game.

10 wins before the holiday break for the first time since 1947-1948, which is just absurd.

On to MAC play.

Didn’t learn much from this game. We played full court press nearly the entire game. Not sure if we were trying to put the game away early, wok on our conditioning, or practice for future games when we will need to press, but doing that sealed the game early, it seems.

I also learned that Maxamud is pretty bad. I hope we won’t actually need to use him in a game.

Pardon and Spurgin weren’t dressed for the game, and Pardon was in a boot.

Very limited value in this game today, for the fans or players. The Falcons beat a program that’s being discontinued. Some guys got some time on the court but realistically doesn’t matter much against this type of competition. Maxamud Isn’t a college basketball player at any level. Probably a super nice kid and glad he’s getting an opportunity to be part of the team.
