Following the thrilling win over UMass, our Falcons (11-4, 2-1 MAC) next head out on the road to take on Kent State (11-3, 2-0 MAC) in what will likely turn out to be a pretty key game this season. We seem likely to be hovering around the same area of the MAC standings come March, so winning games like this will be pretty important for MAC tournament seeding/tiebreaker purposes. The game will begin at 7:00pm and will stream on ESPN+.
Always hard to win on the road in conference play, so it's a huge opportunity for us to steal a game many wouldn't expect us to win.
Go Falcons!

The key is going to be containing Delrico Gillespie. He's averaging 19 points and 12 boards. If we can get him in early foul trouble like we did with Simmons from OU, that'll give us our best shot.

The stat that jumps off the page with Gillespie is his 3.2 offensive boards per game. He has a 58% FG while averaging 19ppg. And he makes his free throws - 77%.

Going to be a really strong challenge tonight, especially on the road. Another opportunity for this team to show they aren't like a typical BG hoops team. It didn't work out our way last week. Show up for this one, fellas.

Considering we let the umass center get 32 and 14 I'm a bit concerned we can achieve that key

The sound keeps cutting out. It’s been kind of nice to not hear the pterodactyl screeching every time Kent scores.

Weird game so far. No ruffin tonight and Thomas has now played a few minutes off the bench. Towns got his 3rd foul with 7 minutes left in the half after Glover got two fouls. Shackelford also has two fouls after some post defense shifts

That was an entertaining half but with the sound issues and whatnot didn't realize that was Towns 3rd foul. That's rough.
We miss Thomas handling the ball some, but can make up for it in transition if we keep forcing turnovers. Need to keep Campbell out of foul trouble in this one. Has he subbed out yet?

All that and we're still tied at 45 going into the half. Team is bringing the fight tonight
Campbell is at 40 minutes a game at this point. Towns had 43 of 45 minutes against umass

Ugly start to the half. We have no answer for any of their bigs.

Boy Campbell is fun to watch. If he could shoot threes it would be insane

Agreed. Where the heck was this tenacity against Miami? He didn’t attack the hoop at all like this

This is among the most entertaining games I've seen in awhile (didn't get to see any of Saturday's game).

Umass was not this entertaining. 80 free throws with limited intentional fouls made it a slog
Also if Campbell could shoot threes he would be long gone from BG
