Believe it or not, and as bad as the recent stretch has been, all we gotta do is go beat this bad NIU team and then defend the Stroh against an also-struggling UT team on Saturday - and suddenly we're sitting in the 4-seed*
* assuming Miami beats OU in Oxford on Friday night

Still lotsa blah stretches, especially when Campbell got his second foul, but then Mayar Wol said give me the damned ball.
Great defense by Glover in the middle with like 5 blocks, Wol with 13. Up 19 at half.
Now close it out and don't let them in it

Very solid effort against one of the worse teams in the MAC. A win over Toledo Saturday will about assure a trip to Cleveland.

Really liking the zone defense. It fits our personnel quite well. Hope we stick with it the rest of the season

Officially surpassed last season’s win total with last night’s win.

I'm generally not a fan of zone defense, but we do have a group of athletes that it suits well. IT also allows you to keep Wol on the floor more since his length is an asset in zone, but he's not good at all manning up.
The big problem I have though is that zone invites other teams to shoot more threes. Even last night NIU probably had 10 completely uncontested threes that htey bricked. We simply don't have the shooting to be daring the good teams to put up more threes. That really lessens the zone where we really need to get people inside the arc or we simply cannot keep up with them.
