Very Intersting from THE BLADE

I am not sure if anyone could post this article but I read an article in the Toledo Blade this morning. I could not find it anywhere on the online version of The Blade.

The article was about the Michigan State students. It stated that if a Michigan State student misses more than 2 home games in a year, and does not wear a MSU supplied tshirt, they lose their rights to their courtside seats and are banned from sitting at courtside and must sit in the upper level the remaining games they attend.

Just think about that. They are banned if they miss 2 games in one year, or fail to wear a MSU tshirt. We cant even get most our students to attend 2 home games in a row. If anyone can find the article please post in for me.

I see nothing wrong with that at all. It keeps the dedicated people courtside where they deserve to be!

I agree. I was just saying wouldnt it be nice for our students to have a problem like that. But first we need to get our students to the game.

Last night was pathetic 2100. Please!!

Last night was pathetic. I also am not sure how I feel about this new policy of wristbanding STUDENTS ONLY in the lower section. I understand what they are trying to do, but when the student section is 70% empty 15 minutes before a game, I feel bad for the father and son who bought GA tickets hoping to sit near the action and get turned away becasue they don't have I.D.s.

How do you non-student azz.commers get past the guards at the door???

Dayons,
We go up to our seats and then just duck under the railing. If there is a "staff" dude up there, then it's a little harder. At the Toledo game, we didn't get down there until the second half when they finally left.

But I agree, I'm a recent Alum and I don't want to sit any place other than the student section. I'm far too loud for opposing fans and older adults. I think that if you still have your ID, you should be able to get and sit in the student section if you would like to.

If they do the wristband thing, we don't even try. But I agree, that is doesn't take a brain surgeon to see if the lower stands aren't filling up, they should let anybody sit there. Hey, if my son and I are willing to show up an hour early to get a good seat, why can't most students?

I walked up to the second floor and walked down the hall to the one of the entry ways , I was stopped by a "ticket checker" and he asked me do I know where the general seats are. I said yes I do and proceeded to walk past him and jump over the railing into the student section. :D

If you still have your ID, photoshop a new sticker for the back withthe updated semester. Thats what my friend did. It works toget her into the student section post-graduation as long as they don't use the electronic swipe machine.

Last night it kinda went like this:

"Tonight is supposed to be a students only night, are you guys students"
"We used to be"
"Well, do you have IDs?"
"No"
"Well if you know where you want to sit, go ahead"
"OK"

The whole time I'm thinking, either you let us in, or we go up the stairs and jump the railing. Either way I'm sititng in the student section

I agree 2100 last night. That is pathetic. 16,000 students and all we get to the game is 2100. Its fricking FREE!!! If I was a student and I didnt like basketball I would go just to see if I could get free fries!
