When our placement in the West was announced, NWLB found data showing that our home attendance figures were no lower against West teams than East. Nevertheless, I prefer being in the East and having regular home and homes against long time rivals Miami, Ohio, and Kent. I think that it makes for a better, stronger conference to preserve the continuity of its longstanding rivalries. We'll still have two games per year against Toledo in basketball, and as Paul Krebs pointed out, we'll be playing more in our alumni and recruiting base.

The "recruiting" thing is HUGE, especially to some of the non revenue sports. It gives us a much better chance of landing Ohio kids. Parents like to see their kids play baseball, softball etc, and this gives them a better chance to do that. It is also less expensive for these sports as they don't have to pay the "out of state" fees, that sports like FB and basketball don't have to worry about.
