I owe Dan Dakich an apology.

This is in response to a series of irresponsible posts that I made related to Dan Dakich in earlier threads. I regretably abused my privilege as a member of the media by erroneously portraying him in a negative light when that is certainly not what Coach Dakich deserves, nor is it an accurate description of his personality. I made some terrible assumptions in posting information that was based totally on rumor rather than first hand account. My actions were highly unprofessional, and I am embarassed by them. I have a professional duty and violated the privilege of being able to interview our head basketball coach. As a member of the media, under no circumstances should I have been negative toward Dan Dakich without merit in such an open forum of other supporters of BGSU athletics. Such actions violate the most basic and elementary principles of journalism. I urge any user of this site to simply ignore any post by me which could be interperated as negative towards Coach Dakich. Furthermore, he has never hesitated to grant myself, or any of my collegues an interview, which I am very grateful for. Dan Dakich certainly doesn't owe me anything, as he has already been more than accomodating. I, however, owe him an apology. It was unfair to him, and a horrible display of judgment by yours truly. Despite what any earlier posts may show about my feelings toward Dan Dakich, I feel that he has done a teriffic job coaching this year's team and they have been a delight to watch. I believe that Dan Dakich is the right coach for this team and this university, and look forward to watching his teams play in the years to come.
