Excellent work! I don't know what was the best part (besides the obvious), the girl's reaction, or hearing the oohs and ahhs in the background.
Thanks for posting it!

Yeah, the spontaneous applause was pretty cool... and that girl's look is priceless!

What I don't understand is that BG does have a third or fourth backboard for such occasions. My small town client who hosts the High School Bball tournaments in their public arena has four backboards for just such an occasion.
Am I seeing this correctly, the south backboard is attached to the floor and not one of the movable types? Does that explain the delay? Again - have not been in Anderson for a long time and never really noticed that they were movable or not by watching the game on TV?

That backboard could've shattered at any time. Unfortunately, it shattered right before a televised game, and it cost us a TV game. That sucks for the program (...but fortunately nobody got hurt). It's too bad that we didn't have a backup ready that we could deploy faster. I'm wondering if the department will consider such a thing in the future.

All in the interest of bandwidth, my boy...
I'm still playing with things in iMovie... I think I've got some pretty cool stuff, including the little dance, mixed in... I'll share when it's done.

One of the facilities guys told me that they no longer make backboards that fit the type of frames we have. Apparently, the backup backboard put in place yesterday is the last.

No more dunking!!!!!!!
Also, it apparently takes about 3 hours to replace a backboard, so the rate at which they completed the task, though seemingly slow and unorganized, was actually quick. Have to congradulate Jim Elsasser and Andy Jones on that!

Alright, alright... it's rough, but suitably cute...
