Ohio give Tim O'Shea a contract extension through 2010

Post by BGSU33 »

Oh what making the NCAA Tournament can do for you! Prior to about a month ago, they were calling for his head in Athens the last couple seasons. I will say this much, I think Ohio will be the team to beat the next couple years in the MAC.

People love a winner.

HAHAHA

Just another example of how coaches are unfairly judged. If you win, your great, if you lose, your an idiot. But one year can change you?

Yeah he is only a couple games over .500 for his career at Ohio. They got lucky the ball didnt fall back out against Buffalo. I think O'shea got pretty lucky with the parity in the MAC this year.

On that last second shot, the ball just hung on the front of the rim for what seemed liked a few seconds before it rolled in. I swear it just stood still. I was hoping it would fall short.....so I knew right away it was going in. That's my luck. :?

I know what you mean 33 about the ball seemingly pausing on the rim. . .I was actually hoping for it to go down because I don't want da Bulls in the dance before BG returns. . . (just like as an Indians fan I didn't want the Red Sox to win it all)

Being around O'Shea and his team the last three years at the MAC Tournament, I don't see him as a great game-day coach. He certainly has produced a great recruiting class in this year's freshmen players.

But he seems like he rolls the ball and out and says, "go play boys." He has to be one of the most nervous-acting coaches I have ever been around and he seems very unorganized.

Maybe that's unfair because I am on the outside looking in? But his team certainly has gotten the job done this year. Now his real coaching abilities will come to the forefront (good or bad), keeping these guys focused and improving from year-to-year instead of taking a step backwards.

I have a feeling that the Ohio AD jumped the gun on the contract extention. He took a lot of heat when he fired Larry Hunter and this further validates that decision.

Only time will tell.
