Wow...that would be a perfect fit for Dan. He could see a lot more Cubs games too.

Given the latest two defections, maybe it is time for him to move on. :?

Yeah, I thought Austin was going to be an All-American! He'll be missed. :?:

Well, who was the guy that recruited him to come here in the first place? If you want to argue that he won't be missed, I won't disagree with that. But Dakich was still the guy who misevaluted Montgomery's talent and wasted a scholarship on him. Either way, it still falls on the coach, imo.

So, you'd rather have Austin here and the JuCo All-American NOT here? Hmmmmm... interesting view.

I think we're one sub-par player lighter and we've gained player with a potentially HUGE upside. Really... from what I've heard about Samarco, he could tear up the MAC! I've heard about him for the past couple of weeks.

Was recruiting Austin Montgomery a mistake... I don't think so.

Scott Vandermeer left for reasons other than "He didn't like the coach" too...

You just woke up grouchy today, didn't you?? ;-)

Everyday, Grant, everyday. :x

I AM excited about Samarco coming, but finding out that Vandermeer is leaving as well is a big blow. We now are down to just five scholarship players returning next year. Two of those play the same position and one played in only 17 games and averaged about four minutes a game when he did play.

For a coach that stresses the value of having Seniors on the team that have been in the program for four years, he sure doesn't have a very good success rate at seeing players make it that far. :(

So, do we have like three or four more scholarships yet to give now?

How long will it take before we know what that means?

New poster here, long time falcon fan but I'm an OSU Grad. I don't think Dan is going anywhere. Several reasons, one he wasn't completed the job here yet and his contract has a buyout as does Brandon's. Word I have is Dan has three verbal commitments already (this includes the JC from Michigan). I think Vandameer is a big lost, he win be a 7'0" shot blocking machine somewhere by the time he becomes a Junior or a Senior. Let's hope Dan signs another JC, this incoming Freshman class doesn't need more than one additional. I have heard Moon Robinson has ask for his release as well. I hope this isn't true but that's what I hear. Best Wishes :P

A long time I hope...it's really no one's business why he left (assuming Dan or anyone else didn't do anything illegal or in violation of NCAA rules to him )

FWIW, I wouldn't miss Moon much at all.
