I hate to see guys leave the programs as much as the next guy, but you have to admit, it’s going to be fun watching DD put this team together. In looking at the roster, I have the following questions and observations.

1) Is Samacrco a PG? If so where does this leave Floyd & Moon?

2) It will be interesting to see who emerges as Stevens back-up, Clements or Wilson

3) Soler & Sullivan should be a nice combination at the 3

4) PF will be the most interesting, Holland & Rad look good on paper

5) Who will help Lefeld at the post position? Maybe Marschall or Rad

6) Will we get a Red Shirt out of this?

7) With all the guards, does he run a three-guard offense?

Obviously it will be rough in the beginning. But if O’Shea can at get it done with a young team, DD can do the same. On pure coaching, I would take DD over O’Shea any day. Watching the teams evolve is half the fun for me.

I agree that it is always fun watching a big new crop of talented newcomers join the program. This is a the largest group of freshman BG has brought in since Coach L brought in 7 (Joe Moore, Ed Colbert, etc.), and we still have one scholarship to give. We can only speculate on who can do what until we can actually see them play in October scrimmages. Heavan knows which of these newcomers will emerge next year.

I suspect that Samarco is more of a 2 than a 1, and Nick Wilson might be as much of a 3 as a 2. Also, based strictly on European stereotypes (and his stats), I'm envisioning Rad as more of a shooting three than a 4, where he'd need to post up and bang. Furthermore, when it's all said and done, I'm betting the Sullivan will have more minutes at the 4 than 3.

Some questions:
1. Will we have a 3 guard offense? (And will Floyd see the court?) (Is Moon staying?)
2. Who will fill the 4 & 5 spots? Will Lefeld be a full time player? Will Holland and Marcshall be true low post players?
3. Are Clements and Wilson decent outsice shooters?
4. How will Wright respond to being our best returning player and the guy our team will depend on to be the go-to guy?

7 freshman is a recipe for more transfers. I expect another great exodus. When the dust settles and certain players are not on top they will be gone.

That's a very solid point but I think one of them is a juco. It will be pretty difficult to keep that many people from the same class happy.

Out with the old and in with the new.

I'm really looking forward to this upcoming season and seeing how all the new pieces fit in place. This is the type of class that has MAC Championship written all over it by the time they mature into upperclassmen, if not sooner.
