Re: positive!!
Well said bacn3! I'm not going to doubt them until they give me a reason to. No one has even seen them play a game yet and the faith is already gone. Give em a chance, they could suprise us!bacn3 wrote:ok i've been reading and reading and all i here is dan this ron that and i'm starting to get very angry!!!! we have payers out there that are ready to give everything they've got to help us win, we have, believe it or not coaches that have proven they can win and want to win can we please talk about that!!!!! enough weith ron he's gone he was good but he wasn't good for the program end of story better that he's gone if he didn't want to work to get better. bac, I love your enthusiam for Falcon bball. I will be right there with you to support this team and coaches. I also believe, however, that even the most orange blooded fans among us realize that we must do better- in many areas. Like you say, hard work is a lot of that. And I too hope for a good season.
But too many seasons/off seasons like these and support evaporates. That is the nature of college athletics. I know our team and coaches will work very hard to succeed and I'll cheer with you.
Go Falcons!

I'm not sure "support is evaporating" . . . I just think we have a lot more realists than what we've been accustomed to around here. More and more people are starting to view the program differently and that difference is with more realistic expectations rather than thinking we're a top 5 team with middle of the pack MAC talent.

I'd say option has it right. Until a point last season (I would guess about the Ball State debacle at AA), I thought we had a top-rank MAC program that was having trouble dealing with graduation losses from two years before that and injuries in the meantime. After that, I realized we weren't a top-rank program, and we might be on the wrong track. The team simply doesn't have enough athletes. Then, the best returning athlete on the club leaves, and that's where you get the concern.
Finally, on positive attitudes and hard work. Both are necessary to win. But neither can do it alone. I have no doubt our teams have worked hard the last two years. Positive atittude psycho-babble can blind us to our faults, preventing us from improvement. We have to be more effective in recruiting players, IMO, and often times that's a product both of hard work, and of making the right decisions when crucial decision time comes, which is probably about five times a year. Make them right, and you put yourself into a position where hard work makes the difference. Make them wrong, and you're pushing a rock up a hill.
I'll be there cheering, too. Let's hope we can turn it around.

I'll third that...if that's possible.
But I'm certain everyone here that has voiced complaints will still go to the games. Everyone here wants what's best for this team. Three years ago we saw a team that almost (should've) went to the NCAA tournament. Now we're not even sure where this program is headed. People are frustrated and they have a right to be. I still want to see how we'll do this year. I don't think we'll win the MAC but I have a feeling that this team is getting closer and closer by the day and they might just surprised us. Hopefully.

I am excited to see how Vandermeer, Floyd, Robinson, and Soler do this season as Falcons. We will miss Lewis but if he doesn't really want to be here then I'm glad he isn't. I think that this will be Dakich's year to show what he can do with this team or even more people will be asking for a change in coaches. I have this fear though that since he bolted for WV and then came back to BG aweek later, many of his players have developed this attitude that if Dakich doesn't want to be at BG then why should they.
ROLL ALONG!!!!!
