Following Falcon Basketball on TV far away.....

Post by Falconboy »

Is there a way to get games on the internet that BG might be playing on FSN Ohio or BCSN? I might be in Arizona over the winter months and would like keep up on men's and ladies basketball as much as possible.

You're likely going to have to get satellite TV (Directv) in order to watch FSN OHIO. I think you're out of luck when it comes to BCSN.

And you'll have to rely on WBGU to listen to games online for free or pay for that CSTV All Access Pass to listen as well.

The thing is just getting DirectTV won't get me FSN Ohio will it? Don't you have to be in Ohio get FSN Ohio in a sattelite package?

All you have to do is get the Sports Pack for something like $12, which gets you all of the FSN regional channels. If you'd like more information, just go to this link below to view all of the channels you receive, some of which include ESPNU, CSTV and NBATV

I heard this product advertised on the radio and it sounded like it may be able to help you out:

http://www.slingmedia.com/

Apparently you connect this Slingbox to your computer and it will redirect your cable or satellite feed through the Internet onto your computer. It is pretty expensive, but if the price ever comes down I wouldn't mind hooking one of those up to my computer here when I have to work during the opening rounds of March Madness.

I get FSN Ohio as part of basic cable. Even with FSN I think you might only get 3 to 4 BG games. They usually have a MAC game of the week after football season, so at least you would get some MAC hoops. So, you might be looking at some significant $ for 3 games (I say do it anyway).

Just a thought.

Yeah, I heard the radio commercial too and promptly went to Best Buy to inquire about it and it and sadly you need Tivo which also needs broadband internet access at your house which I have neither of and don't have the money for. It sounded totally cool but unfortunatly you need a bout several hundred dollors worth of other equipment to use it.

Really? My friend has Dirct Tv with about 180 channels or so and he's says he doesn't have it which is bizzare. I'm thinking I might have to get a Direct Tv or some form of sattelite tv and get that FSN package. If I do end up in Arizona for the winter , I'm really going to miss seeing lady falcon basketball live. :?

FB, I already explained this to you. Please reread my post above about how you need the Sports Pack with Directv, which enables you to watch all of the FSN channels. Your friend likely doesn't pay the extra money for the Sports Pack.

Yeah, I figured that. I was just saying it was kinda weird that basic cable would have it as JWEIII said and Direct TV not have it but I guess cable must be totally different than sattelite tv.

It's not weird. JWEIII lists his location as Cleveland, which is why he would get FSN Ohio as part of basic cable as would most of our Ohio friends on this website. But if you live in Arizona you won't get FSN Ohio but instead FSN Arizona, which won't help you when Falcon games are on. That's why if you move out there, you would need satelittle TV to watch BG on FSN Ohio.

Okay whatever dude, I understand now, I'd have to get sattelite tv and get a FSN package if I'm to see BG games out in Arizona.

I wonder how long will it be till ESPN and/or FSN makes thier game broadcasts available for download like NBC and I think CBS is doing now.
