I gave my son the choice of watching the OSU-UM football game or going to the BG-Urbana basketball game. What do you think he picked?

I'd be inclined to say the football game, but not sure how much brainwashing you've done...

Here's a hint as to how he thinks in regard to football and basketball:

A week ago Saturday his CYO team played in the Toy Bowl at UT. They won 28-0, Derek scored two TDs and forced a fumble on defense with a sweet hit on the ball carrier. On the way home he said "I wish football season was longer." I reminded him that basketball practice started on Tuesday. He didn't much care, would rather be playing football.

Also, he has basketball practice on Tuesday nights. So I asked him the other night, "Do you want to go to basketball practice or do you want to skip that and got to the BG-UT football game with me?" It took about 0.18 seconds for him to say "FOOTBAL GAME!"

There's a surprise :)

My uncle has season tix and told me he's not going. Pretty amazing for a guy who has probably missed about 10 home games in the past 20 years...and most of those were when my aunt was battling cancer.

I know we cannot schedule around other schools competing in other sports, but its a shame to see the home opener on the same date/time as the OSU-UM game.

Hammb, I agree. I don't understand why that game couldn't have been on Sunday afternoon, but the crowd is going to be pitiful.

WH--gave my son the same choice, and we'll be watching the UM-OSU game.

If it wasn't Urbana, I might have done the hoops, but its Urbana.

I might have to sit next to you in case the game gets picked up on TV. It'll make the crowd look bigger.

Maybe this one shouldn't count. Urbana coming off a 45 point loss to Huntington College and has a game Friday night.

I predict that the final scores added together will exceed the attendance

Maybe not, but I'm sticking with it. Urbana may have lost to Huntington College by 45, but we were roughed up by Radford and also lost to Western Carolina. We have shown we can beat or lose to anyone. With that said, I fully expect a BG win and by more than I predicted. I can only hope we get Wright and Dusan healhty and Moten eligible and that we gel as a team by the time we hit the MAC schedule. This game will be a step in the right direction.

I'll be watching the Buckeyes kick some serious tail on saturday, but nevertheless:

Urbana 44
Bowling Green 80
