Lefeld is hurt, I hope it's not serious

Post by BGSU33 »

Lefeld missed the Urbana game with what BG is hoping is a "bone bruise" in his foot. DD said he was getting x-rays and they are "hoping and paying" it's not a break. I hope it isn't broken too!!! Man are we banged up, first Wright and Dusan, then Lefeld. If Lefeld goes down, our front court is really, really in trouble. We have no height or depth at center without him.

Stop flipping out about everything with this team. He's out for a week. It's not the end of the world.

It is the end of the world, the sky is falling, we won't win 20 games this season.....AAAAAHHHHHH!!!

I'm not flipping out, just posting what was reported on bgsufalcons.com on exactly what DD said for those who may not have seen it. So maybe DD is "flipping out"... :o

metz did you see the x rays?

Post by commonsense »

Metz I was wondering how you know Lefeld is only out for a week. Did you see the x ray results? As much as I would like to rely on Dr. Metz' diagnosis, I think I will wait for a second opinion from another doctor. BGSU33, I'm with you in hoping that this isn't broken. With all the injuries we have I'm not going to assume anything.

You haven't been around long. Metz knows these things. If he says a week- it's a week. He knows people. Oh- and is our biggest fan.
So please play nicely with others until you figure out who everyone is in this sandbox!

I don't "know" things, I hear things and relay them to you all. If you want to believe them fine, if not, don't. Oh well.

I, for one, will be glad if he only ends up being out a week. Sounds like good news.

Dr. Metz, Calling Dr. Metz

From today's Blade:

"Lefeld, the Falcons' tallest player by four inches at 6-11, sat out the game with a bone bruise in his foot area, although
Dakich said the injury is still
being evaluated.

"His X-rays will be read by a radiologist on Monday and we're hoping and praying that there isn't any type of fracture in there," Dakich said."

They haven't read the x-rays yet? Since when do you have an x-ray and don't have a radiologist looked at it almost right away to find out whats wrong? Sounds like a coverup to me and that Lefeld will be out much more than a week.

When I blasted my ankle with an axe, it was a day or two before a Radiologist took a look at the film. A general practicioner took a look right away, but the specialist took awhile.

If it was done at Wood county hospital, who knows how long it might take. They may even be one of those hospitals that sends their results to India to get evaluated.

Blasted your ankle with an ax, huh? Are you serious? An ax? Brbrbrbrbr. Sounds brutel. I trust that that you broke a bone and perhaps tore ligaments, and that you healed up just fine. What with it being an ax-related injury and all, you might've completely severed that darn thing. Please tell me THAT isn't the case. Ax injuries potentially can be quite ugly. Please be more careful in the future.

That's because your a nobody.

My point was that if an athlete from the University went to the hospital and had an x-ray, I am sure that it would get read immediately. None of this "oh, it will get read when the radiologist comes in on Monday afternoon" stuff. The athletic dept has enough doctors, etc on the payroll that they would get some answers to an x-ray a little quicker than the rest of would.
