"Trustees also discussed the schedule to receive by the end of the month final results of a study on the future of Anderson Arena. To date, there are more than a handful of options being explored for the arena, including creating a much larger 210,000-square-foot structure at the current site or building the arena elsewhere.
One of the sites that's been looked at is a location southwest of the football stadium, Bob Waddle, assistant vice president for capital planning, told the trustees"

Anderson Arena news from the Blade....
The best location for a new stadium, in my opinion, is next to the field house. Convert the lot that is there next to it now back to commuter, make the commuter lot beside it resident, maybe build a parking garage and you have a great set up that takes people off Wooster.

The Master Plan has a convocation center in Lot 6 (next to Haven House). But remember, the plan is a 35 year Master Plan.jmillerbg wrote:Since "Southwest" of the football stadium is Lot 6, he must me "West" of the Stadium. In other words, the current intermural fields.

When does the 35 years start? Some of us aren't getting any younger!transfer2BGSU wrote:The Master Plan has a convocation center in Lot 6 (next to Haven House). And does any part of the master plan include buying up Haven House and those other non-university buildings around the Alumni Center, claiming that whole intramural/parking/stadium lot for the university's domain?

Do you know where another huge parking lot would go then? My guess would be between the field house and the airport as I do not recall any other massive piece of land.transfer2BGSU wrote:The Master Plan has a convocation center in Lot 6 (next to Haven House). I'm for the south end, to close that side of the stadium in somewhat. I forget, was the Sebo Center going to house new lockerroom(s) too? If not, a hoops/hockey arena on the south end would be a good spot for that, with the team running on right out through the endzone. Not sure how big it would be, if it would cause a traffic nightmare on football days, though...Dayons_Den wrote:I would put it on the East of the stadium near the golf course hill and grassy area made famous by AZZ tailgaters.

We don't need a massive piece of land, just park residential students on the east side of the stadium. It gets very litle use these days (5 home football games and Presidents' Day).jmillerbg wrote:Do you know where another huge parking lot would go then? Actually the Master Plan calls for three parking garages to be built. One behind the Student Health Center and one across from the Administration Building. I cannot remember where the third one was to be placed, but I believe it would go out near the convocation center in the Lot 20/Lot 6 overflow area.
