Bleed Orange I was way off, we do have more talent this year than last. I dont know what I was thinking. After tonight though, I see where I was wrong. Let the talent shine.

He he he.
Could you at least wait for box score to see Floyd and Moon's turnover totals?

John Floyd's mom is the official scorer out in Peoria too. Floyd and Moon with 1 turnover a piece and Samarco with 27 of the 64.
Bradley has four in double-figures.

Man, this one is really going to hurt our chances of getting an at large bid come March...

yeah, the 10-20 for them vs. 5-17 for us from behind the arc probably didn't help much, either....

I was thinking Pat Phillips in the starting five and lack of guard play, but ok Flipper, you have a point too . . .

ummm, when do wright and moten start playing? samarco needs some major help.

Wright started running earlier in the week and Moten is eligible against Florida State when the first semester concludes. This team needs a lot more than 3 on 5 and that's expecting Wright's foot not to be a lingering problem, like Hammb and I discussed and Moten coming as advertised which can't be said for the others so far, so that's putting a lot on him.

44 Fts by Bradley is probably a leading indicator of defeat.

I don't think anyone feels Wright or Moten will be a savior for BG. But they can only help us get better, and there's no question we need their help and that we can certainly use it. Heck, I don't think adding an Antonio Daniels or an Anthony Stacey or a Keith McLeod could give this year's team a "savior." We've got A LOT of improvement and work to do ahead of us, but with the way we have been playing this season, we can only get better. Getting blown out by teams like Radford, Oakland and Bradley means there's no place to go but for BG. I really think when Wright comes back and Moten gets his legs under him, we'll be a better team than where we are now. I'm not sure how much better, but that's to be seen. I can only hope we develop into some sort of a force come MAC schedule time.

Option QB,
If you have no idea what happened at the Bradley game except for the score then don't say anything stupid like that again.
For everyone else,
I love how you all think it is our point guard is the only problem with the team. John and Moon are having a problem because there is only one scorer to get the ball too right now.
We have only one true scorer playing on the team right now (Samarco) and maybe Floyd is shooting a little more right now because who else is going to? There is no other scorer on the team. And Floyd as an experienced player, is probably the only one who should be getting those shots right now. I am sure when Steve comes back John's shots will not be as high.
I also love how everyone thinks Moten will be a "savior" for this team when he plays. He hasn't played one minute of Division 1 college basketball!! I hope he comes in and contributes right away, but to say that when he hasn't played a second of college basketball is just wrong. I am not saying he is not any good. I hope he turns out to be a solid contributor to this team.
This team may not look inexperienced on paper, but they are in the way that they are going to have to take on much more meaningful roles than last year. Take Matt for example, he is not used to being the only inside threat on a team at the Division 1 level. Floyd is not used to scoring at the college level but he should be trying to score right now (until Steve gets back) because no else can except Samarco. Those are just a couple of examples.
On the other hand, after listening to the Radio show today, it looks like Dakich is really getting into the guys. Hopefully they can continue to improve and take some momentum into the MAC season.
You guys are also forgetting that we beat VT at VT and VT just lost to the Number 1 team in the country at Duke, on a 40 foot shot at the buzzer. This team has the ability to play with anyone. They just need to find that confidence to do so.

Ya hear that Option? You definitely better not say anything stupid like that again! (...what was it, anyway?)
Seriously, there was a recent series of posts describing our hopes for Moten. NOBODY expects him to be a "savior", just a good contributor. ?????? What are you talking about?
There ARE other players capable of scoring. Granted, none of them a bigtime scorers, but capable. In the Oakland game, our PGs were bad. To be fair, some of their appearantly bad play could be attributed to the fact that the team as a whole doesn't run the offense well and play well togethor. When guys don't make the right cuts at the right times, the PG is left in a lurch and turnovers result.
"This team has the ability to play with anyone. They just need to find that confidence to do so." Well, I glad that there's someone out there other than me that sees potential in these guys!
