Who will have more, Dakich or BG?

Post by BGSU33 »

No offense coach, but I hope you lose.......

I read some of the other MAC boards from time to time, and burried somewhere over on Ohio's board, there was a post were they were making bets that Dakich would have more technical fouls than BG would have wins this season. Well, six games into the year, Dakich is leading. :?

Great. Other MAC message boards are making sport of our coach.

I wouldn't be surprised if he has more T's than W's this year. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if he hasn't done it already.

The biggest mistake Paul Krebs has made as athletic director here (and he has not made many at all) was re-hiring Dan Dakich. The world isn't as good when you step out of Bobby Knight's shadow is it coach! His contract cannot run out fast enough. Then maybe we can cloan Curt Miller. I should be careful, I don't want to upset the coach...

When Dan returned I was thrilled. I loved his style and his teams had been quite successful. However, Dan has NOT been nearly the same coach since the defection & return as he was in his first stint here.

It's really has been day and night with the two-part Dakich era. Part 1, he had BG atop the MAC contending and was a hot up and coming coach. Part 2, poor records and player defections have given the program a black eye. Man I wish we could get back to how things used to be.

I've been wondering how much of his Part II troubles are a result of the initial loss of trust of the players. Perhaps there was sort of a cultural change after his departure, and trust was never quite rebuilt. Perhaps the a sense of player loyalty that gets passed from one class to the next was damaged. I don't know, but I can't help but wonder. Every single season in Part II has been somewhat of a grueling mess. It has been no fun at all being a BG basketball fan recently.

When is his contract up anyway, I don't remember how many years he got?
