How the heck can there be three teams worse then us?

I think it pretty clear from Nick's comment as to why three 1 win teams are below us.

Interesting piece of information; BG beat Virginia Tech. On Sunday Va Tech led #1 Duke with under 5 seconds to play only to lose on a buzzer-beater from half-court...

Sorry, but the fact we beat a team that played Duke close is greatly outweighed by what my own eyes have seen in person. We are bad. I seriously think a team like Findlay could beat us right now. Maybe Vandelay thinks Moten will be a savior.

Why do I get the funny feeling that we'll have about 6 wins sometime in early March and trumpeting that we're really better than that because we beat Virginia Tech baby!

All that matters is the MAC tourney. I'll re-evaluate this team and it's (slim) chances at that point. Until then, I'm resigned to the idea that this is yet another "rebuilding" year, and hoping nobody important leaves the program. Ten wins would be a pleasant surprise to me.

WMU hasn't beaten a 1A team this year and CMU lost to Cleveland State and didn't beaten anyone of consequence in their 1 win. Now you could perhaps make the case the EMU is slightly better because they beat Cal, but then again they lost to a bad North Dakota State squad. And I'm pretty sure everyone we've lost to this season at least has a winning record thus far, except for maybe Western Carolina (5-5). With all of this said, who really give a s**t what some early season power ranking says. Plus, I doubt you have watched any of the directional Michigans (nor have I) to make that comparison as to how much better or worse they are than BG. The fact is, the directional Michigans and ourselves are not playing very good basketball right now. Whether we're 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th in VanDelay's power rankings it really doesn't matter, we're towards the bottom right now. But perhaps Wright really will make the difference that VanDelay alludes and BG will see a dramatic improvement. It could happen. :D

We certainly have done nothing to make that an impossible scenario....
