He's shoots from anywhere you let him and doesn't play defense. Sounds like we found an opening for our open scholarship. God knows we need another guard!

Wow, if true that's big news! Per this, he has officially left the Akron team.

Would he be eligible mid-season next year?

You can never have too many slow, unathletic white dudes on your team!

Great question about sitting out and coming in mid season next year, I would assume it depends on how long it takes to get him enrolled at his next stop.

The good news is that he hasn't used his redshirt yet, so he would have at least two years remaining.

Here's the JJHuddle article:

He will likely just transfer to IUPUI so it wont be an issue.

Dambrot actually has a team, with or without Walther that can compete now in the MAC. Nick Dials coming in has taken minutes away from Walther and that is the main speculated reason for the transfer.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think if he gets enrolled for this spring semester he would be able to suit up following next year's fall semester.

I was checking out Akron's website before I even read any of this and noticed that Bubba's bio was not on the team roster. He must be gone as of now! Nick Dials must have been taking up too much of his playing time.

Yeah, it's all over the Ohio board too, he's going/at OU. As if Ohio needed any more help next year or down the road....

As if Ohio wasn't already stockpiled with talent down there in Athens already, think about this...last year's All-MAC Freshman team already consisted of Ohio's Leon Williams and Jeremy Fears. One of the other players was Akron's Bubba Walthers, who is now at Ohio too. Out of 12 teams in the conference, Ohio now has three of the five players who made this team. That's almost not even fair..... :(
