UT down 10 at Kent with 12:00 on the clock
They would fall to 0-2 if that happens despite being picked to win the division and I think the Tournament by the media.[/list]

Now they're down 3 with just under 8 minutes left. Big Rocket second half.

Rockets Fall at Kent; 0-2 start in the MAC. The Joplin rumor mill is churning already.

Kent wins. Huh, is the East that much weaker than the West? You have to wonder with tonight's game and NIU's game yesterday.

I was able to listen to the Kent/UT game on the way home from work...until I couldn't take Bill Needle anymore. Man that guy likes to hear himself talk!

His voice is the only thing he has going for him.

Needle is one of the biggest pompous asses in the business. I saw him berate a security worker at the Gund because he had the audacity to ask to see Needle’s press credentials. It was something like, “Don’t you know who I am?”
Sorry Bill, I guess not! The guy was only doing his job. Thanks for being a jerk.
Bill and Michael Reghi are two of the biggest egos going.

Ouch, the MAC East went 5-0 against the MAC West tonight. In fact, the MAC East is 7-0 against the West so far this season.

It's hilarious you say that....I heard him for the first time the other day via the KSU webcast for the Syracuse-Kent State game, man he doesn't sound like a sports broadcaster at all! I really couldn't stand his voice or delivery, and he had no excitement at all for calling a game which Kent had the opportunity to pull an upset in front of a crowd of 20,000 plus. I may send Kent State a demo tape after hearing him.

Don't bother. Needle is a Kent grad and has been around Northeast Ohio forever.
Unfortunately, the fact that a guy's been around forever is generally enough for viewers to eqate a reporter with greatness (
see Reghi, Michael). Nevermind that Needle's been stuck on the UHF and public access channels for his career.
The reason Bill Needle calls KSU sports is very different from the reason Todd Walker calls BG games.[/b]
