Its really unbelievable the contrast of our two basketball teams this year. Its used to be the men were the only ones making waves the Mac and competing for championships. Now we have an 11-2 ladies team coming of 2 straight 20+ win seasons a MAC Championship , NCAA berth and that has lost only to a very long and athletic Kentucky team and a very top mid-major team in Delaware(7-1 when we played em') both of whom I believe are getting votes in Top 25 polls.

Just wonderin' if any of you falcon men fans are the least bit intrigued by lady falcon team to check out game for once. There are some upcoming specials I think , like a wear your orange gear and get in for $3 bucks, or a Wood County resident discount as well at one of upcoming home games. To get the whole list on these you can find at http://bgsufalcons.collegesports.com/index.html.

About what time is halftime for the women's games? I'd hate to have pay for admission and all.

That was my initial thought when reading the post.

I root for all Falcon sports. I don't see the point of putting one of our teams down to promote another. But that's just me.

You know What Hammb.......

I wouldn't care if you only came to the ladies games at halftime as a start. Thats fine. Come at halftime if you don't feel like laying down 5 bucks. I'll take that as would the team I think. We'll if a game starts at 7pm, halftime probably would be around 7:48 ,7:50 thereabouts. You could check or listen to the radio broadcast on 88.1 FM to get the time left until halftime to time your arrival if you wish. BTW there are going to be some discounts and specials on some upcoming home games I think for some ladies games this month and next.

Wow, I can't believe he responded to that, much less with that comment.

Interesting. FalconBoy makes an interesting point and question and just gets attacked.

Some of the best fundamental basketball I have ever seen was when the ladies were playing under Fran Vol. Some of the finest coaching was done by Fran Vol.

I like this ladies team this year - tenacious, great D, passes that "pop". This team reminds me a great deal of the Fran Vol teams which were going to the NCAA's.

I apologize, I'm the one who started it. I know that he says he doesn't have much cash and still tries to support the men's team by at least coming for the 2nd half of the games. It just rubs me the wrong way when he's always clamoring about attendance and fan participation and then doesn't come till halftime.

I'll try to be nicer...

I apologize
I don't. One minute he's complaining about everything wrong with our athletic programs, the next he's trying to get people to games. Sorry if that comment upsets anyone, but I don't see how anyone could listen to someone who bashes the programs so regularly.

But he is a fan and therefore deserves a modicum of respect - regardless of whether you agree or disagree with his stance.

FalconBoy gets a bad rap a lot of times - and I'm as guilty as many. it's to the point where many people actively seek ways to counter FB.

If you don't like what he has to say, don't read it. I choose my battles.

Apologies - although welcome - aren't necessary, brother. We're all Falcon fans to one degree or another.
