So my fiancee and I were having dinner on Friday night in Avon, Ohio and shortly before we finished, a man sat down at a table next to us. The man was sort of facing away from me, but I couldn't help but look at him close enough to recognize him and I said to my fiancee, "Hey, I think that guy is Anthony Stacey's dad." Well, she knew where this was heading as she knows how much of a BG fan I am. So as were leaving, I had to ask him if that's who he was. I had talked to Mr. Stacey before, but that was years ago when I was still in school, and so was Anthony. So I walked over to his table and said, "Excuse me, I'm sorry to bother you, but is your last name Stacey?" He said yes and when I asked him if he was Anthony's dad, his face lit up like a Christmas tree.

Anyway, we talked for about 15 minutes or so and it was great. I could have sat there with him all night, talking about BG hoops. As many of you know the Staceys are a great family. He filled me in on Anthony, that he's still playing in Spain and that he recently got engaged, and about all the road trips and games he and his wife went to when Anthony was playing. He said Anthony is still a huge BG fan and that he is always asking his dad about the team and what is going on up there, etc. You could just tell how proud of a father he is listening to him talk about his son. I shared some BG/Anthony stories with him and as we left, he said he was going to the BG/UT game. I told him we were too and sure enough, I saw him again there today. Anyway, I know Anthony posts on here from time to time, so if you see this Anthony, not that I need to tell you this, but you've got a great dad and I enjoyed talking with him. Always great to meet and talk with good BG people.

33,

That is one classy family...and AS is probably my fave BG hoops player ever. I just loved his style of play.

Great story!

GO FALCONS!!

Keeping it in the family, With so many great players having recently played at Bg i really hope that we keep it in the family like we have done with Cowan and Cowboy. I want to see these guys when they give up basketball for good as Assistant Coaches, Grad Assistants etc. etc. Mcleod and Daniels, Pardon and Stacey, Lenny and Reimold, Almanson and Esterkamp, Lets get some recent MVPs with great character back in here to just be around the team and the program and go from there.
