Well, the sting of another one-point loss in the conference is still eating away at me. We sit here at 3-3 and could easily be 5-1, but what can you do but try and bounce back. We’ve got Buffalo coming in next. Without question in my mind, Buffalo has been the surprise team to me the last couple years in the conference. This program was on the verge of being the worst in D-I, now here they are a competitive force in the MAC. They got off to a terrific start to the season, but their last game out, I think everyone in the MAC had to be shocked at what happened when they lost at home to CMU. You know Buffalo is going to come out hungry and come after us on Tuesday. UB is 13-4 overall, 3-3 in the MAC and is 3-3 on the road this year. Buffalo is a very balanced team and they have five players averaging double-figures in scoring. Also, Buffalo has never won at BG, so let's keep it that way!
With that sad, I think we just need to continue to play as we have been lately, but we must learn to close out games. In two of our last four games, we have lost by a single point after holding solid leads. I said in the preseason I could live with the non-conference losses as long as we made improvement come MAC schedule time and we have. But with that improvement, many of us know we have a decent team now that is much better than it was a few months ago, which makes these one-point losses sting. When we lost to NIU by one, we responded at home against Toledo in our next game. I hope we can do the same against UB after the BSU setback. GO BG!!!
