BG @ KENT STATE

Post by pilot4ksu »

Are there any falcon fans out there that are going to make the treck across ohio to see the falcons play at kent state? I'm looking forward to this game because we are on a roll and Kent State has an opportunity to go to 8-0 in the conference. We are off to our best start since joining the MAC. It's unfortunate the falcons are having a down year, but its always fun to see Dakich and his smiling face come to town. Heres to a good game. GO FLASHES!!!

I'm not coming. I'm turning my hardwood interests solely to our awesome women, because our men are about to get badly raped the next few games, starting with Kent, then Akron, then Miami.

Wow that was pretty hard bgsu24! I'll be at the game, first road trip of the year for me. I'll try to give a report on the game Fri. I think we will keep it within 12. How's that for being positive. Saw John Floyd's brother Mike play tonight for Toledo St. Johns. Plays like his big brother. They beat Bowling Green HS tonight. BG was up 16-7 after one quarter but came out after a 24-24 half very flat in the third quarter only to score 4 points. I don't think we will see another Floyd at BGSU, well he could go here to learn something.

I won't be making the game, unfortunately. Other things planned. It sucks being in the real world and all.

Someone had to say it. Just because a team is only doing "okay" is a pretty poor reason to pull your entire support. That's great that you are going to follow the women's team more closely because of the success. I understand not watching every single men's game because, as others have stated, they're not incredibly fun to watch this year. But don't give up on BG sports teams a third of the way through the MAC slate just because they aren't setting the world on fire. College athletics, and cheering for your school, should not be dependent upon winning alone.

IMO, this is the biggest problem with the current student body, and is the root of our all-sport attendance issues. The students (and to an extent the community) don't come just to cheer the team and have a good time -- they'll only come if we have a winning team. Look at hockey and women's basketball, the attendance has steadily increased as the team has won more games. This is not how it should work, but I guess it's what we're stuck with.

i will not be there as well, i still will support the team, but im not willing to go to kent to watch them, theyre not dead in the water, the played the worst first half ive ever seen them play against any team, but they did come back at the end and had a chance to send it to OT. they also did all of that with some very "questionable" calls but the officials, so theyre not a terrible team, all they need to do is played 40 mins of solid basketball and they can beats teams. I mean, c'mon bgsu24, did you expect the team to light people up? i know i didnt, but that still isnt going to hinder my interest in the team, or hinder my interest in go seeing them play.

GO FALCONS!! UPSET THE FLASHES!!

I was originally planning to go down to KSU tonite to see the Falcons...Unfortunately, one of my former lacrosse players at Hudson died over the weekend, and I'm going to attend a funeral instead.

Kent State, Akron, Miami and Ohio wow!

Yes the odds are we will lose the majority of the next four games against Kent State, Akron, Miami, and Ohio. But if we can pull out two of the games with some miracle play then we'll cause some hell. So how bout thinking of causing hell in the MAC instead of losing. Screw the Golden Flashes, Zips, Redhawks, and Bobcats. LET'S GO BG!!!!!!!! Give it to Samarco!!!!!!

I was going to go down from Cleveland, but will be stuck at work until 6:30. So by the time I got down there, parked and got in I would miss the first half.

This one could get ugly, anyway. BG usually plays well at the MAC Center (for some reason), but IMO Kent is what most people think/thought OU should be. Think I'll put this one on the radio and watch OU/Buffalo on mute.

Had to look it up. 2-2 in the last four visits, which isn't bad in the MAC, I guess.

I was going to take the Freaklings but that was before I found out they had joined the Y hoops leagues. Josh has practice until 6:45 here in Green.
And he has a spelling test tomorrow we need to review. I really wish I could make it. I missed last year's big BG win when Reimold took that full court pass from Wright and laid it in with seconds left to seal the game, 77-73. I taped that game cuz we were over at the JAR watching the BG women's team defeat Akron...both games started around 2.

I was at that huge 24 pt comeback when BG won 78-74...other than that, I've not seen BG win there in the other 6 or 7 games I've seen.

ANY game can be won or lost....I am not throwing in the towel on the guys cuz they've hit some rough waters lately. Although Kent is playing VERY well right now.

GO BG! BEAT KENT

And the spelling test! Wow. I would have made him study in the car on the way to the game!

We're not going--rarely make road games for hoops. Its not a commentary, just our life. I can't tell if this team is just this close to competing, or pretty far away and not making any progress, but either way, we'll be watching and cheering.

Not sure if the game is going to be on WBGU tonight but if all else fails you can listen to the kent state broadcast with Bill Needle calling the play-by-play.

Edit: Apparently it will be aired on WBGU...
