GOODBYE EVERYONE!!!

Hey Everyone:

Greetings from Georgia. Those in the basketball chat room today know I was pissed off during the game because of some posts that were going on between me and another so-called Falcon fan. I had a wedding to attend and just got back to the hotel and all afternoon I have been thinking and I just wanted to tell everyone that I will not be coming back to this board. I may check in from time to time, but certain people cannot respect the direction our programs are heading, or do not wish to support certain programs and I take that personally. I have been attending Falcon sports so over 25 years. I been a resident of BG all my life, a season ticket holder for all major sports, gone to the bowl games, missed 7 games in 6 years, went to the NCAA Hockey Championship, etc, and been a Falcon Club member for 10 years, donating over $40,000 but it makes me sick to my stomach on how certain ‘so-called’ fans turn on our programs and have to talk bad about them. Due to this, I decided that I am going to take a few months away from this site. Grant, you can go ahead and delete my account if you must. I really appreciated getting to know each and everyone of you and talking amongst you, even though I have not met anyone personally. I will always be a Falcon Club member and support our athletic teams, but coming to this site lately and hearing certain people put down our program has made me sick. I wish the best to each and everyone of you and maybe when the time is right I will come back to this site to express my opinions and read what Falcon Fans have to say, but for the moment I think it is best that I leave this site before I say some remarks that I may one day regret

Yours Truly,
BGSUFAN1972

Ok, now that I vented I am going to go back and enjoy the wedding reception

For starters, I hate to see a true fan get so mad they have to leave what they love.

Having said that, I've never understood this announcing your departure thing. It happens frequently on another board on which I post, and I just don't get -- it takes a hell of an ego to announce it like that.

Also, I've never understood letting someone else's actions get to you so much that you have to do this. Other people are going to have different opinions than yours. This other poster in this instance would rather focus his efforts on the women than the men right now. So what?! IGNORE HIM. I'd hate to be a co-worker of yours. I can only imagine a discussion when deadline hits, or a snag occurs in a sale, and you disagree with something.

"Ah hell, I quit."

Yikes.

Lastly, perhaps what's most sad is that you're doing this all during someone's wedding reception? Remind me to check my fandom to just a few score updates the next time I'm in a wedding reception and BG, the Cavs, the Packers or Pirates areplaying, and don't let me get into little bitchfests on a damn message board.

I guess what I'm trying to do is to get you to focus your anger elsewhere, and not leave. Why would you let someone's differing opinion drive you away?

Low blow Jham. Differing opinions are one thing..ah hell doesn't matter what I say...just didn't appreciate your comments. You missed a few things.

100% agree. It's downright silly. And he thinks it's important enough to post it in multiple subforums. :ugh:

I think we all need to take a deep breath and simmer down. There have been times when I've voiced some concerns about this site....I usually just say "this sucks, so i'm outta here for awhile', but the gist of the comments are the same.

The important thing to remember is that the great people here far outnumber the jerks. If we all cede the site to the jerks, we may as well call this site jerk.com

I'm going to blindly type www.jerk.com now to see where that leads. Let's click on the link to see what the sie is all about.

This could be fun....

Boy, that was a letdown....

I gotta admit, knowing the internet I was really expecting some jerkoff material to be there...

This site was not intended to provide a vehicle for "goodbye cruel world" speeches. Is what he's upset about important? Quite possibly. Is this the place to act like a drama queen? No.

To me it makes sense that he might do that. Not everyone reads every forum, and if he posts it in the ones he reads, then he'll get to all of the friends he's made here. Quite logical.

The problem with 72's post is this: I have no real idea of what he's honked about. His reasoning was sketchy and incoherent at best.

40K to the Falcon Club is impressive, though.

Saxy, you are disarmingly reasonable. Your vocation awaits you in the diplomatic corps. I only want to share this wisdom with the basketball readership though, so your secret is safe from the hockey readership.
