DTE (Pine Knob) advice needed

Post by Falcon Fanatic »

I have tickets to a concert and have never been there. Our tickets are general admission lawn. Can anyone give me recommendations on the place? I read their policies (no drinks, etc...). Concert is at 7, how early do you think we should get there, etc...?

thanks.

It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

It depends a lot on the popularity of the performer(s). Traffic can be horrendous for a Jimmy Buffet concert, not so much for Chicago these days. Also if getting a decent spot to sit/stand is important, you'd certainly want to get there at least a couple hours ahead of scheduled start time for that reason alone. For a hot act, people show up and tailgate quite early, and traffic can be backed up for miles.

Great....just what I want to do...hang out in the heat for hours before the show starts! Just looked up the weather for tomorrow and it's a high of 95 degrees. ugh

Is there a recommended way to drive in? I saw that there are many entrances to the place.

We're going to see Train, btw.

In that case, I'd recommend driving up there about four hours early, light your tickets on fire, then turn around and come home. :-D

I'm currently at a Kids from Wisconsin concert in New London,WI, so I won't criticize anyone's music choices. If it's done we'll, it's all good.

This just further cements your standing as this board's resident renaissance man.

M - the couple of times we went there, I don't think we had a choice. We just followed the line of cars and did whatever the Parking Gestapo ordered.

Well...here's my complaints to DTE after my first trip there:
1.) Why are you parking us out in the distant lawn area when there are TONS of spots blocked off on the paved lots? No one was allowed to park in the paved lots in the middle, only the "VIP" lot up front. The rest of us were funneled in the lawn area that was a pain in the AZZ to get out of (took over an hour). :smt021

2.) Please add video boards on both sides of the patio awning instead of the single one facing the center. Couldn't see the ones under the patio awning nor the center one. :smt086

3.) Add speakers that reach the top of the hill!! Those of us who got in late (stupid GPS...) and ended up at the top of the hill couldn't hear the concert well. Looks as if they have one big speaker mounted on each side of the pavilion awning, but it's not enough. At a concert, you shouldn't hear the people around you singing louder than the band!!! #-o

Overall, I would go back there, but learned a lot from our first trip there!!
And thanks for the feedback!

This was a huge concern at Woodstock as well.

Missed that one but made a few others-no video screens at any of them, not even the Poe ditch Festival (yes, I was there).
