Haven't won two in a row since sweeping the DH from the Twins three weeks ago.

But the teams play 12 games head to head yet, those games will determine who wins the Central.

I knew it had been a while but that is sickening.

Tribe just won in 14 innings over the Tigers on a walk off, bases loaded hit batter. No sheet....We'll take it.

3-2 Indians...

And don't look now but the White Sox have won 5 in a row and are only a game behind Cleveland. It's a 3 team race at the moment. Lots of baseball left....

Things could get very interesting very quickly if the Indians were to sweep, or at least get 2 of 3 against Detroit and Chicago sweeps Baltimore. What I wonder is how many more games do the Tigers have against Chicago...I'd imagine its a bunch.

Whoever does the best in divisional play the rest of the way will win the race. It's really that simple seeing as the Indians have 20 more games against Detroit and Chicago.

I quit following when they failed on the attempt to steal home in the 8th. Glad they pulled it out though!

The way Brantley stuck his bat out trying to trip Avila on that squeeze play was...comical. Great play by Dan Schlereth too...he saw the ru7nner break during his motion so he changed his pitch to a big slow outside breaking ball...almost impossible to bunt and he hung the runner out to dry.

I like our chances the next 2 with Porcello and Verlander going for the Tigers. The Falconfreak is spot on though...the Chisox are barging into this race too. Man, I love this time of year...pennant races heating up, football camps are underway and the NHL is just around the corner!!!

Porcello got knocked around tonight. Jimenez wasn't dominant but looks a lot better than he did earlier this season. With that said I don't like Carmona's chances against Verlander tomorrow.

I don't like Carmona's chances against a wet paper sack, so I definitely don't like them against Verlander.

Nothing to worry about for the Tribe. I'm sure Verlander is probably a little tired so I would expect the old worthless sack to have Rayburn pitch for him today...ya know...to keep Justin fresh for all those meaningless games to come.

As Lee Corso would say, "Not so fast my friend". Carmona has a 2.81 era since coming of the DL. Also, he is 4-1 with 3.46 era against Detroit at Jacobs/Progressive field. Conversely, Verlander is 4-8 with a 6.31 era in Cleveland. And the Indians have won 13 straight against the Tigers in Cleveland. So, while I'm not saying the Indians will win, there are a lot of numbers in their favor once you get past just looking at Verlander vs Carmona.

Tigers take the finale, so only lose one game overall in the standings.

Tribe pulled off another "come from behind" win in 8th inning vs. Minn. ..... too bad Masterson couldn't get the last out in the top of the 8th (he DID looked tired).....Raffy Perez pitches 1/3 of an inning and gets a win...the joys of baseball. :supz:
