WTG!!! Do you know when (and where) you will be singing yet? I have many friends a relatives that usually go to the concert.
Also, how many people did you have to beat out in the competition so far? And how many will you have to beat out at Country Concert?

It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Don't know Toby Keith but that's a pretty good story.
How many songs do you sing about how Badazz America is and how you want to put a boot in peoples azz who are foreign?
Just saw you won...Congrats....

Re: The craziest thing to happen to me I think ever!
Thanks again guys. First off, I will be singing in the Country Club Saloon in Hickory Hill's (Where country concert is held). I guess there are a few places on the grounds they turn into "saloons". The contest down there starts at 10am and Im not sure how long it runs, I just know I get one song and I cant be on stage for more than 5 minutes. I beat out 5 girls (I was the only guy) who were excellent. The one sounded just like carrie underwood! I sang XXL by Keith Anderson for my finals song but also sang American Ride by Toby Keith for warm ups. Everyone wants me to sing Honky Tonk U for my song down in Fort Laramie (Toby Keith). I got a lot of practicing to do in the next 8 days! According to all the places where the karaoke finals were held to come to this contest it looks like I will be up against as many as 60 people. I got my fingers crossed but the Judge at the finals told me I was better than the winner last year so we will see! If you would like to follow me around (I am actually starting my singing career) I have a link to my fan page on this forum already and I have events posted. I will be singing just for fun at Herbies place in Haskins ohio this saturday. Thanks again for the support and prayers, you guys are all awesome! And I dont mind singing at tailgates lol! (thats if you like country)hehe

Congratulations and good luck! No matter what happens, it sounds like it's been a fun and exciting ride, so make sure you enjoy it.
As far as song choices, you may want to try the theme from Rawhide.

LOL I think ripping into "Down Here at the Pawnshop" would probably really capture a country audience's attention-element of surprise would probably win it for you. Good luck! Can we start calling you Crystal?Lord_Byron wrote:Congratulations and good luck! No matter what happens, it sounds like it's been a fun and exciting ride, so make sure you enjoy it.

Although your right, pulling out the Sublime would most definitely be a surprise, I think I still may pass lol. I am most definitely enjoying my time here in a some what spotlight moment but even if I do lose it does not end here. I changed majors in college from History and Geography to History and Music. Ive never had a singing lesson in my life and I will begin in fall as well as more guitar lessons. I have some of my own material and am hoping to start getting my music heard.h2oville rocket wrote:LOL I think ripping into "Down Here at the Pawnshop" would probably really capture a country audience's attention-element of surprise would probably win it for you. P.S. if calling me crystal gets me into the music world so be it. This has been a huge dream of mine just to make it to Country Concert and to become a singer.

Well, go for it Big Time- I'm so sick of hearing about Ms. Bowersox I could scream, although she certainly has talent and comes in for none of the blame for local overkill. It would just be nice to see Congratulations Lowry! signs springing up instead.

Re: The craziest thing to happen to me I think ever!
Hey guys,
Sorry its been a few days since I posted an update.
The concert went good however I didn't win. I was expecting a contest based more on singing ability rather than stage performance. I placed 6th out of 52 singers but was told over and over by the crowd I was the best singer. I gotta say I call this contest a success though as a number of times I was remembered for my performance earlier that day. I had a few photo ops and gained a following from a few of the fans at the concert.
When I got back home I talked to the local bar owner in town and he wants to support my singing 100 percent. He is making me the bars main show and when I get back from my honeymoon (Im getting married this weekend) in 3 weeks I am going to collaborate with a guitar player there going to hook me up with and start playing shows there. I also may have a chance to start touring around the NW Ohio area.
All in all this is a big step in my singing career.
Thanks again for all the support and when I find out when I play I will post to let you guys know.
