“It was mainly an attitude check (at halftime), and we came out fired up right from the beginning of the second half and we were ready to go,” said BG’s Derek Schroeder.
The three turnovers in the second half were two interceptions and a forced fumble for BG.
Schroeder was responsible for both interceptions, and he also scored all three second-half touchdowns for the Bobcats on runs of four, three and three yards.
Schroeder, a running back, was most dangerous when he was used in the ‘Bobcat formation,’ where he lined up as the quarterback. Every play Schroeder ran out of the ‘Bobcat formation’ was a designed run.
He carried the ball 15 times for 101 yards and the three scores.
“Derek Schroeder is an outstanding young man,” BG head coach Steve Aungst said. “He can go on to the next level and do some great things, but first of all he’s a great man. With that, he’s also a great football player. We trust him with everything that we do. We line up in our ‘Bobcat formation’, he’s the man that we want with the ball.”
Congrats, Dad!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."
