Our AD definitely gets paid the most per win in the conference ...hopefully this will be the final year under GC. Our Athletic Department needs someone who actually understands college athletics and how to promote a winning atmosphere for all sports.

Maybe we can find an AD with the courage to get the MAC to drop baseball as a requirement so we can move on and dump the sport in favor of women's hockey.... :-)

That really makes NO sense when you have 700-900 kids playing baseball in Bowling Green and in most towns in the MAC....but I see why you like him so much now, because he is certainly trying to do just that (at least the baseball part). Women's hockey would be a big money maker, I'm sure! ;)

I just don't get the bashing on GC. I've worked in collegiate athletics for a couple of years (not claiming to be an expert by any means) and from another school looking in, I think he's done a decent job. Good hires (IMHO) for football, hockey, men's soccer. Extending Curt Miller's deal, seeing the Stroh through, fully supporting the hockey campaign. Are there things that have been lacking or progressing slower than hoped? Sure. But overall I'd say we've definitely moved forward in the last couple years overall.

But I've said it before, there is always going to be people who say way more negative things than positive things no matter what the circumstance.

If they bring women's hockey, then it would probably satisfy the Title IX requirement to allow the rugby team to go varsity.

I don't know...volleyball is just killing it this year...does GC get any credit for that? I'm ragging you about baseball because I think 95% of your GC hatred is derived from scholarship reductions to baseball...or is that low? :)

I have to admit that if it came down to women's field hockey with the ladies wearing plaid skirts or baseball...the plaid skirts would win every time

Volleyball is 3-3 in the MAC.......no more creampuffs like the early schedule. I'll admit that 3-3 is pretty good for any team that GC has anything to do with! ;)

Not only baseball either, and also the way he has handled MANY other things in the department. Have you desigated money to Falcon Club? You might want to check where that money actually ended up, because it may not have been to that particular sport! He thinks it is the GC designated fund and he can do anything he wants with it.

I've heard that criticism about not allocating designated funds to the appropriate sport before and agree with you that that should not be the case.
