Fun story

Hey all -

So I moved out to Baltimore a couple weeks back for a job. I was out at a bar in town this past Friday which is one of the hot spots for young folks, and there was a band playing "West Virginia, My Home" and if you'd put in a few bucks, the lyrics would be changed to your home state.

I put in a few bucks for Ohio, the singer stopped, yelled "Ohio?" and asked what I was doing all the way out here. I said work, got some applause from the crowd, and this married couple about my age found me and told me they were from Ohio. We got to talking and ... they both went to BGSU and graduated the same day I did! We talked about our friends and our activities, and it turns out we've been around each other for basically five years of school. I definitely recognized both of them and they recognized me.

Small world, eh?

And it totally worked out! lol Come June 1, we're evening living in sin.

Markl - what bar? What neighborhood? I'm back in da 'hood for a few days in early June and have to make sure to hit all my favorite spots!

You would actually be surprised just how many BG grads are out there. The contingent for Nolan's major league debut was impressive. Email [email protected] to get on the alumni chapter email list.

Howl at the Moon over by the Power Plant. Nice place. Pricey but what do you expect? We have a place kind of like that in West Lafayette so I had to check it out first.

Where will you be living during the day?

As my mother always told me.... "Son, don't go poking any bears."

I think you can consider the bear duly poked.

Instead of the infinitely more useful:

"Son, don't go puking any beers."

Ugh. I rarely went to Power Plant. Too many uppity brats in Ugg boots driving Daddy's trust fund car. If you want a more reasonably priced, down-to-earth atmosphere, try the bars in Fell's Point (Max's, Kooper's, Ale Mary's) or Canton (Looney's, Speakeasy, and Thirsty Parrot).

lol. Forgive me. I'm drugged on pain meds, but unlike Flipper, I do not have an exciting story to explain why.
