5K Run in Honor of Fallen Officer

Post by VDub26Falcon »

Hey everyone. Some of you who know me know that my father is a police officer in Elyria and I'm sure many of you heard about the officer that was killed in the Line of Duty on March 15th of this year. James Kerstetter was a very close friend of the family and my dad was even his training officer back when James started his first job at the Lorain County Sheriffs Department.

The street next to the Police Department is being renamed in Kerstetter's honor and to coincide with the name change there is going to be a 5K Run/Family Walk on July 10th. I don't know if any of you out there are into jogging, walking or anything like that but I thought I'd throw this out there. If you want more info you can e-mail me at [email protected] and I can forward the flier to you.

Just an update...I did the run a week ago and came in 58th overall out of about 300 runners and turned in a 24:54 which I was extremely happy with. Also, came in 3rd in my age division, the ever competitive 25-29 group.
