Those color photos are amazing. The fact that they have retained their vividness is extremely unusual.
We should post our own photos from that era.
While not in color..... this is my father probably about 1938-39 dressed up to visit Aunt Minnie. One of the few photos of my father not smiling. The 1930's saw an explosion in amateur photography.

I think the hat made him be serious
I don't know if I ever met Aunt Minnie myself.

Amazing photos. My favorite is easily the last one with the gent working the carbon plants in TX.
These have kept their clarity because they are reproductions of slides which were likely printed on glass.
Thanks for sharing. Loved every image.
