Bow Hunting....

Any bow hunters here? I just got my license after going through hunter's ed last Sat. Learned a lot about safety and such but didn't actually get to shoot any guns or anything. Been intrigued by bow hunting for a while and have several friends who hunt both with bow and shotgun. One of my friends raises beagle hunting dogs for rabbit so I may go rabbit hunting as well.

They say killing defenseless animals is a sign of future serial killing.

Curious that my father who hunted quite frequently never showed any tendancy of that...not to mention the friends that I grew up with.

I'm also fairly sure that this statement may be construed as a "personal attack" meaning that it violates the forum rules.

All those guys down at the slaughter house, all those commercial fishermen, all those guys working for Terminix, all those vets putting dogs down-who knew?

But personal attack? Eh, nah, just silly.

I'll shoot anything that moves and some things that don't. What's that make me?

I think maybe hunting is too divisive of a topic then.

I used to bowfish- mostly just big, defensless carp but it was fun. You had to stalk them, really- I went down to the spillway at the park in Van Buren and they'd pop up to the surface a lot. Then you'd try to follow them when they swam into the shallow areas until you could get a good shot. That requires special arrows and an attachment for your line but its pretty entertaining if you like bows, Falconboy.
