....sucks!

I had to take my new MacBook Pro into the shop and they say it has to go back to Apple and will be out 5-7 business days.

So I'm at home on the PC using my Time Warner Cable Road Runner and it's like using my Verizon Wireless card. It's taking forever for pages to load.

I want my Mac back!!!!!

Thanks Grant for telling me about the Mac Cafe up in Toledo. They did a nice job up there working with me this morning.

Loading them a lot faster than your MacBook, though, isn't it?

I have switched to Windows 7 for work, but had Vista for awhile. I never understood everyone's problem with it, I never had a problem.

Ditto. While I like Windows 7 better, my issues with Vista were few.

FWIW, internet speed is generally an issue with the connection, NOT the operating system.

If you where a late adopter of Vista you were probably alright. Early on, Vista had problems because Microsoft did not release their driver specs to third parties early enough, so many driver just weren't available. Also, somehow, Vista was often sold on very under-powered machines. Hell, I remember seeing laptops sporting Vista at BestBuy with only 1GB of RAM. Also, Microsoft scrambled to un-do some of the annoying features in subsequent service packs.

This would be an excellent B-School case study on how NOT to conduct a major software release.

Fortunately for Microsoft, Windows 7 simply kicks a$$. Whatever you've heard about Vista, ignore it if you're considering the purchase of a Windows 7 machine.
