Right back at you Freak.

Have a fun evening.

We're talking about hitting a movie, then relaxing here at home. We did get together with friends last night for dinner and drinks.

Odd thing about the Holidays...when you're a little kid Christmas is HUGE. It's the Super Bowl, the Olympics and at least two birthdays rolled into one. New Year's?...meh..you get stuck with a sitter too dumpy to have landed a date for a night or house full of your parents friends. BFD, right?

Then you get a bit older...your appreciation for Chritmas gets a little diminished...you stop getting Hot Wheels and GI Joe with or without a kung fu grip and you start getting clothes and more boring gifts like a book and New Year's stays kinda lame. It seems like New Years is about getting drunk and unless you're from WV, 12 year olds don't usually get drunk.

As you hit college age or a bit before New Year's becomes a bigger deal....screw the toys. I'm going out to get hammskied and to hunt for some bimbos. Good times...good times...sure wish I had a clearer recollection of them. But...eventually you grow tired of getting blitzed..you never really grow tired of the floozies. You just come to realize that like heroin, crack cocaine or reality TV, they're just going to f**k up your head. So you close that chapter as well.

Then something unexpected happens...you have kids. You start buying them toys for Christmas...or Santa brings them...whatever...and suddenly Christmas is King again!!! Watching a kid on Christmas is almost as much fun as being a kid on Chrsitmas. My kid is nine...I think I have a few more years of fun left....then I'll have a delayed mid life crisis and start getting hammskied and chasing bimbos again. I cansee why they call it the circle of life....

and it's not just because it feels like a noose...

I suppose I should have mentioned Jesus in there somewhere....ummmm..maybe at Easter?
