Wonder why this didn't get published on the athletic website?

That is down right embarassing to the university and every alum of BGSU and there is one person that is responsible and he needs to go now!!!

Let's see - As of Friday we get a new president. We're also looking for a new provost and some other folks. Could there be any other names on a list that has not been shared with the public?

Pretty harsh to blame this soley on clawson, IMO. ;-) UT's women did well, men struggled some thanks to hoops. BG's women did OK, men were weak in several areas. They'll come back.

UGH...kinda figured it was gonna turn out like that. Kent State continues to set the bar in the MAC.
Time for BGSU to get back to the top on both sides.

Actually, I believe he was blaming Greg Brandon.

Yeah that sucks...but realistically there are four sports that people actually give a rat's ass about here. Football, men's and women's hoops and hockey. Do well at those and 90% of the University wouldn't care if we were dead f**king last in everything else.

Now..I think we'll be alright with football. Women's hoops is the jewel of the department. Men's hoops?...I'm less sure about that one than I was a year ago. Hockey...hockey is going to be tough to fix. The landscape is changing and it's been a long while since we were relevant nationally. I think hockey will be the biggest challeneg going forward.

If he gets fired from two more places he'll just be "re Brandon".

I don't believe that ice hockey factors in to that trophy given that we compete in the CCHA, not the MAC.

I'm not talking about the trophy per se...I'm talking about the general state of athletics and GC's job performance.

Hockey sucks...it's gonna suck..I'm sorry, but it's true... :-)

Anyone have any idea when the last time we actually were competitive for this stupid trophy anyway? I can't remember this thing even being a blip on the radar screen for the 35 years I have been following falcon athletics.

Count me among those that really couldn't care less about this trophy. For that matter I only really care about 2 programs: Football and Men's basketball. If they're doing well, I'm happy. If they're doing poorly, I'm not.

And over the course of Christopher's tenure I don't think either of these programs is doing all that well. I think Orr is on the hotseat big time. If they don't win this year I think he's gone. Clawson will get at least the 2012 season to prove he belongs, but he better start showing some improvement this year (I'm optimistic about him).

He's done a fantastic job raising funds for these 2 programs, but still we need to see some things change in the win/loss column.

I've been meaning to post something like this over here for a while, but haven't for some reason. All I know is this, I doubt this place would not be all sunshine and roses if men's hoops, hockey, and football stayed at their current level, women's hoops dropped to that level, but all the other sports rose to the top of the MAC, leading to better positions for us in these trophy areas
