Andy F'in Schleck

What a ride. Who goes out at 60K and holds on? Took some big time out of Voeckler and Evans and has a fresh Frank today. Evans will need the time trial of his life Saturday and some excellent descent skills today to grab yellow.

Only problem is Frank dropped off VERY quick. I would have like to see one of the Americans try to make the jump as well. Tom Danielson is in 9th and not that far back. He could have been looking at climbing way up into the classification.

Danielson has been one of the big surprises for sure and has a strong team (obvioulsy) but I don't expect much beyond a Top Ten for him. Husholvd(?) and Voeckler have been the story so far with the big guns (can you call a guy like Schleck who has thighs the size of my forearm a "big gun"?) hanging around on wheels until yesterday. The next two days will see a lot of changes but I suspect most of the people on the podium will be named Schleck.

Andy's ride yesterday was phenomenal. Even catching it with the sound off was a sight to behold. My wife & I just moved into a new apartment & switched to Uverse. The only downside to it thus far has been that we no longer get Versus at home, so I was relegated to a few highlight clips for today's Alpe d'Huez climb. Definitely not near as fun as watching the whole stage.

I was kind of hoping this would be Andy's year, as I still haven't come back around to liking Contador. Going into the time trial wearing yellow by almost a minute, I gotta say I like his chances.

Another thing I noticed, the route this year seemed especially aimed at a whirlwind finish like this, with a lot of really big mountains saved for the last few days. Especially when the last three stages are Alpe d'Huez, time trial and then Paris. If that was in fact the aim of the race planners, I'd say they got their wish.

Unless Andy has dramatically improved his TTing (and he may have-it cost him big last year) it will be Evans or Frank at the top step on Sunday. I'm getting to like Evans but man, is he a painful interview...

Contador is toast. Awwww.... So any bets today? A Schleck has to be the favorite. Evans looked awful after yesterday's stage, but 57 seconds isn't that much in a TT. Unfortunately for Evans it's hilly and relatively short, plus Schleck has the advantage of going last. I am glued to the tube at 8!

And its EVANS! What a great TT. As bad as he looked after Alp du Huez, he looked that good in the TT. Must have taken some great stuff on Friday night. I am currently mixing up the fritatas and chilling the champagne for the final stage watch party. Kicks off at 8-
