This is what you get when you have an AD who spends more time trying to make himself look good rather making sure things are done correctly. I stopped donating when I found out how GC just moves money out of teams Falcon Club accounts to buy football tickets to boost attendance numbers. I can only hope Dr. Mazey realizes the potential BGSU Athletics has.....the first step to improve is to get rid of GC.

Did GC piss in everybodies Wheaties? Was he supposed to fire every support staff member when he came on board? He inherited a department and tackled facility issues first. Don't blame him because someone didn't get a newsletter out on time. Is it Jim Skinner's fault that some dorky kid messed up your order at McDonald's? It's not GC's fault that the newsletter went out in December.

The problem is that,he did get rid of, or some moved because of him, of the many good support staff that we had, that knew how to do things. It is now practically all of GC's support staff, and THAT is the problem! It is HIS responsibility to oversee that things get done correctly! Did we outsource that too?

Or did he dump some people who had been around forever and gotten complacent? I've been around BGSU since 1979...I don't recall ever having the impression that we had a dynamic or innovative athletic department.

Yep, I am sure that is Mr. Christopher's intention.

Why does BG even have athletics? It seems that whoever is in charge can't do anything right, no matter where they fit into the athletic department...AD, coach, assistant AD, proof reader, ticket office worker, janitor, lawn mower man, soda pouring concession stand volunteer...Just shut it down.

I'm just waiting for the food not to suck.

Actually, I take that back. I'm not waiting anymore, I just don't eat at the games. Ample and better places to grab a snack....cheaper, and of vastly higher quality, than anything sold at any BGSU athletics venue.

I agree, it would be nice to get a decent hotdog and pop for 5 bucks, but it seems like another impossible task.

In my opinion you're both right. Some people had been around forever and gotten complacent. Don't confuse them with the good support staff that we had that knew how to do things.
It is a fact, misquoted from Newsweek, that when corporate America gets rid of staff before they are replaced, there is a large amount of useful information that does not get passed on to the new people. It's true enough that there were plenty of positions created to accommodate people over the years who would probably have been hard pressed to list their accomplishments in an 8 hour day or even a 40 hour week. But there were also those workers who's background knowledge and experience kept things going.
Several missing people who come to mind immediately is the woman who was secretary to the volleyball and basketball programs and the guy that helped replace the broken backboard, and took care of so many needs in Anderson that so many fans take for granted, among so many other behind the scenes people. Ask Denise / Mark, ask Curt / Jennifer / Brandi / Kevin, or ask LaMonta if those people were complacent or knew how to hold the show together.
This is what happens when the administration looks solely at $$ and not at the actual worth of each individual's contributions. Remember, the more classified staff you get rid of, the more money you have for your upper contracted positions.
