Faculty Contract Negotiations Update

As most of you are likely aware, in fall 2010 BGSU faculty voted overwhelmingly in favor of unionization.
Now we are engaged in negotiations for the first ever faculty contract with the university administration. The BGSU-Faculty Association (AAUP) and administration negotiating teams are committed to having a complete contract ready for ratification by July 1, 2012.
We are also committed to maintaining the quality of education that BGSU is known for and making our university a great university. We believe this can be achieved in part from a strong faculty contract that protects academic freedom, shared governance and due process, and directs the university’s limited resources to the essential functions of teaching and research that are our core educational mission.
