Arguably, when you factor in longevity, the best defenseman to ever lace 'em up!

But actually, a happy day all in all. The sad will come next training camp and regular season when we fail to truly "replace" him.

I believe Holmstrom, who is expected to retire next week 
is the last of the players who played with Stevie Y. After next week the Stevie era can officially come to an end. I wonder if Lidstrom or Holmstrom have ever played 2nd base. The Tigers could sure use them.

Yzerman quit in 2006...a number of current players were on that team.

I think Homer wants a bigger role than 4th line/PP guy, but I don't think the wings see himas more than that. He could retire also...or move on...
