I guess we are STUCK for one more year
According to the contract that was published in The Blade today, GC's contract expires August 31, 2013. Some interesting bonuses etc are listed.

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

He should get $5,000 every time factman says something nice about him....

By reading his contract, he would seem to benefit more by making sure the players succeed academically and by raising money.

"And BGSU’s Greg Christopher receives $11,000 if the hockey team sweeps the CCHA regular-season and tournament titles".
Interesting...considering what almost happened to the hockey program under his watch.

I like the part that says "And BGSU's Greg Christopher receives $2,000 for every baseball scholarship he cuts."

Interesting that he gets $2,500 if a non revenue school wins the MAC, but, only $2,000 if football wins the East. Doesn't this go against the point that he's the baseball and gymnastics boogieman?
Anyone know which country club he belongs to? Outside of Inverness and Sylvania are there any other country clubs in the Toledo metro area?
Wonder which auto dealership supplies his and other coaches cars.
It would be interesting to compare Clawson's contract to other coaches. I'm sure the football coach gets a car / cars, and country club membership among other things.
Anyone else find section 4.4 interesting? Not necessarily because of Cristopher, but the fact that AD's can resell comp. tickets.

Don't know the specific answer to your "who supplies the cars" question, although I recall seeing names and info on SEVERAL car dealers in the football programs in the past...do believe that these cars are provided to defray the cost of travel while recruiting.

Don't know which one but there are several others around: Belmont in P-burg, Toledo, Stone Oak, Brandywine and Highland Meadows are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. Some may be public/private but last I knew they were all pretty much private membership only.Falcon137 wrote:

There is a Bowling Green Country Club. Why couldn't it be that one?h2oville rocket wrote:Don't know which one but there are several others around: Belmont in P-burg, Toledo, Stone Oak, Brandywine and Highland Meadows are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. I love that course only because some guy used to bury a cooler of beer in his backyard that bordered the course. When you got there you grabbed an ice cold beer, dropped in a buck and proceeded with play. Not sure if you were serious but the course itself is abysmal and only 9 holes which they try to spin into eighteen by changing the tee positions for 10-18.

Re: I guess we are STUCK for one more year
That's not actually a country club, is it? I remember shanking one on the road because some kid on the playground / pool that sits right next to the course, let out a scream during my backswing. Forest Creason is a better course than BG Country Club. Stone Ridge would be the only course if they were staying in BG, but, that's a golf club. The wording of the contract is country club and if you can have your pick of the litter I would think you would go Inverness.footballguy51 wrote:There is a Bowling Green Country Club. Re: I guess we are STUCK for one more year
It's a country club in name only. I played there one time and vowed to never play it again. Between the pool noise, the kids in the park who would scream during swings, and a less than helpful staff it's not worth the ten bucks.
